         <description><![CDATA[<p>EMS calls the hospital with this report:</p><p>911 was called to report a young female who was surfing and got attacked by a shark. When EMS arrived on the scene they found Bethany Hamilton rapidly losing blood from her L arm which was bitten off by a shark. She reports that she did not hit her head and is not on any blood thinners. NKMA. A&amp;O x4 but she is in and out of conciousness. GCS is currently 15. VS: BP- 70/49 HR- 120 T- 36.9 RR- 30 O2sat: 97% on 2LNC. TXA bolus and 25 mcg fentanyl given enroute. CAT placed on arrival to scene on L extremity to attempt to stop bleeding. Extremity not able to be located in ocean although they are still looking at the scene for recovery. ETA approximately 10 minutes. </p>]]></description>
