For example, a project looking at infection where fundamentals within host most be focused on MRC, domestic animal focused sectors link with BBRSC and animal health and then environmental components would normally be NERC and perhaps were succesful understanding of the system and the success of implementation of solutions require a social science component - usually aimed at ESRC - this clearly would be a cross-council project and would likley fall foul at review by an individual council.
