I learnt more about Analysing Visual Texts, which has brought my level of understanding of Visual Texts to a whole new level. I have learnt the focus of attention and what to look out for in a visual text. I learnt what I should do when looking at a visual text (Describe, Respond, Analyse), as well as the elements and language features of visual text, which makes it unique in its own way. Some of this include Visual Puns, Graphic Text, and the Logo. This will all help to uncover the main objective of a visual text, and more importantly, how it uses PACC.

2) Evaluation of Thai Commercial
Purpose - To persuade owners (of shops, houses, stalls) to purchase the Vizer Security Cameras. 
Audience -  Owners of shops, houses or stalls
Context -  Getting a security camera keeps you on watch.

I learnt that Visual Texts are created with still or moving images to persuade the reader/audience, using PACC (Purpose, Audience, Context, Culture). When answering Visual Text questions, describe what you see, note down how it makes you feel and infer what the Visual Text is trying to say. Visual texts are unique because they have unusual graphics (pictures, logos, icons, taglines, symbols eg.) that are effective in bringing across the intended message.

Thai Commercial (on Surveillance cameras) [Evaluation]
Purpose: 
To persuade shop owners to purchase a surveillance camera from their company, Vizer.
Audience:
Shop owners looking for security cameras.
Context:
Having a security camera helps to uncover what you cannot see happening.
Culture:
Formal, touching (using Pathos to evoke feelings from the reader/audience)

I have learnt that visual text is basically text reated by using still or moving images, and may take the form of posters, print ads, flyers or websites.

I have also learnt the 3 main steps of processing a Visual text. They are:
1) Describe - "What do I see?"
2) Response - "What do I feel?"
3) Analyse - " What is it trying to say?"

In describing the purpose of the visual text, I have learnt 2/3 main things to include:
- Who is the intended audience?
     ~ Must be specific (e.g. Working
         adults, primary school children
         etc.)
- What do they want you to do?
- Where do they want you do [action]?
  (***This is not ALWAYS applicable)


2) Thai Commercial
Purpose: 
To convince shop-owners to purchase and use Vizer Security Cameras for their stalls/shops.

Audience: 
Shop and stalls owners

Context: 
The security cameras help to see things that you could not previously see.

Culture:
