Summer Rising teachers have two dedicated days for professional learning and classroom set up for a total of 11 hours. Our PD hours will be from 8:30am-2:30pm on both days.

A Balanced Biosphere: The Central Summer Rising Unit deepens understanding of crosscutting concepts, which are critical for success in the next grade and promotes science and engineering practices, such as constructing explanations and engaging in arguments using evidence. 

Grade 8 SCALE can be accessed through the new Summer Rising section of TeachHub., or this link .No student rostering is required to access these programs.  For instructions on how to log-in and access the digital curriculum, please view this document. 

To support teachers and students, the Social Studies Department has produced a Summer Rising: 8th Grade Social Studies curriculum using lessons from the NYCDOE created Passport to Social Studies and it is meant to prepare children for the global community.
