I attended UCSD for my undergrad, where I studied Biological Science. Even though my major was in Science, I loved that I had the option to explore beyond just my major. I got to take music classes, participated in dance and had a chance to explore the field of education which led me to where I am today. UCSD will always be close to my heart because it is where I met some of my closest friends. Living on campus was super convenient and I made lots of fun memories during my time there.

Go Waves! Let's be honest; the view from campus is hard to beat! On a serious note, the faculty & staff genuinely cared for the students. I had small classes and the professors knew my name. There were lots of opportunities for studying aboard (I lived in Germany for a summer) and the education prepared me for the job market. I also made some incredible friendships.

USC is a beautiful school with everything I wanted in a university. I had professors who are world renowned in their fields. My upper division classes were small and relevant to the world today. There were so many opportunites to be involved such as clubs, greek life(I was in a sorority), volunteer opportunites, amazing guest speakers and arts performances. I still follow USC sports teams and I was able to study abroad in London for a semester. I am grateful to be part of the Trojan family for life. Fight On!

I completed my undergrad and credential at this school and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The small campus and class sizes made the learning experience more intimate. I was able to commute to school so I could stay at home and spend more time with my family and help take care of my grandmother.

Being a USC Trojan is something I learned about at a young age. Three of my older cousins who I look up to attended there. When it came time to applying to colleges USC was my No. 1 choice. I was accepted and attending there is one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I have my Family and my USC Family and I have to say my USC Family supports me just as much. I remain close to college friends...we have attended each other's weddings, shared the joys of having kids, and continue to support each other professionally and emotionally. Fight On!

Ben Acker
I attended USC for both undergrad and for my doctoral program. In both instances, I made great friends with whom I still communicate even to this day. While I majored in business administration, I was drawn to education courses required for me to serve as a resident advisor. I also got very involved in activities, such as serving as the art director for the USC college newspaper, the Daily Trojan, and serving as a counselor for Troy Camp, A summer camp program for students that attended schools near the USC campus. Those experiences working with youth paved the way for me to become an educator. It shows that even though it is important to set goals and have a plan, it is also important to be flexible, and sometimes to follow your heart. It made all the difference for me.

I made many new lifelong friends from diverse backgrounds, learned about differing views and cultures, and challenged myself almost daily. I learned how to be open and say yes to new opportunities...which led me to my career today! I also learned how to get involved in Student Leadership as a member of the student body council and senate.
