Group 1:
Jasmine Nartea
Anaiah Eballa
Elisa Cruz
Jozhel Mae Lambit

Loneliness

During this pandemic, at some point we feel lonely and lost. Though we have our family to talk to, sometimes we feel that they are too busy to communicate with us. We want to isolate ourselves from them, we have the assumption that they ignored us.

Here is some advice, that I hope will help you from your loneliness;
Talk to people, to your friends, family. Don't isolate yourself from them. Please yourself every time you have a new achievement. Motivate yourself, do the things you want to accomplish. Do the things that you love, all of the things that you have interest. Journal your thoughts and feelings. Appreciate the time that you spend with your family.

Sadness

I’m sad because I’m afraid of the reality around me, especially the scare the pandemic gives. I should cheer myself up because if I’m afraid and overwhelmed to face reality in my life then I cannot accept reality which means I will not be able to accept anything that happens to me. I believe that will not happen because I will keep my perseverance and strength to live on.

Many people are alive but don’t touch the miracle of being loved. There are many people who don’t believe in love and there are also many who don’t believe in what they can do. So the first thing you should do is to believe yourself and love the right people around you and it could help you stop feeling sadness.

Depression

I've been depressed nowadays because my family member died due to covid. Please do not give up. If someone's time has come it is inevitable. You could think of the ways to continue your family member's dream and your dream together and that will motivate you to continue on living and strive everyday. After completing such wishes you will be able to appreciate yourself and your family.

(Photo from IStock)

Group 6:
John Cristofer B. Eballa
Raeniel Novilla
Liam Layda
Marcedson Bela

During our darkest days my friend, we tend to feel the heaviness of our burden. We all know that suffering from mental issue is hard especially for you, but you must endure it because people who loves you and cares for you are suffering too because they are worried that something might happen to you. As a friend who's been with you since the day we met to the present, must help to fill the void that is in you. You're the one who fills the void inside of me when I'm at my darkest periods.

So here is a piece of advice:

You can think the way you want; feel the way you are having right now. I am certain that everything you have in your mind are valid. Nevertheless, always keep yourself aware and distinguished your future to your present because what you will be in the future will be made by who you are now. You suppose to worry working on yourself today and not for tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. We humans are made of paradox and as you doubt everything right now, I am telling you that I am here for you, cry all you want and as you do it, you must cry while moving, do not think of others criticism because there will always be one along your journey. Go to the place that pleases you, you might never know, that the place you always visit might reminds you about all the good things that is happened around you. You could go to the therapist for treatment. I may be your friend but I’m no therapist; it’s not my job to provide treatment for your wellbeing. As always mentions by professional therapist, I, as a friend, role is to be supportive and encourage you to keep up treatment. Don't feed on sadness, you should always be happy. I hope my piece of advice helped you to get through the situation you are in.

(Photo from HelpGuide.org)

They must take a break from it so that he/she cannot be burned by their problems. he/she can share it with anyone that they think can help them. Even for me, I appreciate it. I love to listen to his/her problems and I like also to treat his/her a snack so that we can have more time to talk to. I will offer him or her my emotional support. I'll be there to encourage them to keep fighting their battle. I would advise him/her to address all of the causes of his/her pain. Take care of yourself first, and try to talk to someone about your problems, since this can help to lessen the pain you're experiencing. Keep your faith in the Lord and remember that, God will not send us challenges if he knows we will be unable to conquer them.

I might not be in your shoes, and maybe you are really frustrated right now but all I can say is that you must keep on fighting and don't give up, you should be tough we all go through rough times, all of us have our own struggle so you have to be strong just keep on fighting and move forward don’t let your emotions ruled you sooner or later you’ll overcome it. Always remember a strong negative is a positive use that hardship as your stepping stone use it as your motivation and don’t be scared and face your fears. Try to be optimistic stay healthy physically and start to have good habits and everything will keep on line and you’ll be on your track once again. Appreciate and cherish everything you have. When i see someone who is sad, angry or anxious, it is my instinct to ask “what’s wrong?” However, someone dealing with a mental health problem may have certain thoughts or feelings that aren’t related to a specific situation or event. So when i am approaching a friend who is showing signs of a problem or dealing with emotional distress, it is important to be patient and supportive. They will be on your back whatever happens and if not, they surely want something from you. We need a friend who will listen to us in any way. So, if you feel that your friends are not true to you, you just need to let them go and value those people who always on your back. I know that things have been really hard for you, but I know that you will get all through these. It might take some time, but I know that you will make it. Just hang on there and know that we are here for you as always. If you feel like you need someone to talk, we, your friends and family are always, ready to listen and open arms! it's not wrong to cry, alright? that does not make you weak so if you feel like cringe, go on. you are doing so so great and we are always proud of you! keep going! we got your back! Don't be afraid to be vulnerable in front of me. I won't judge and invalidate what you feel, even if you think that what you're going through is small and nothing. If crying, breaking down, throwing things, or whatsoever minimizes what you feel, go on. And even if the only thing that you did everyday was just to exist and survive, I'm still proud of you. Just remember that I'm always here, that you matter to me and that you're loved.

Every day we ask questions like “how are you?” and “what’s up?” as a way of saying “hi” when passing friends in the hall, responding to emails and posting on Facebook walls. But how often do we get meaningful responses to those questions that tell us how our friends are really doing? If you have a friend who is struggling emotionally, not coping well or using drugs or alcohol to escape, it’s important to understand that unaddressed emotional health problems can have serious consequences. These problems can make it hard to succeed in work or school, and lead to addiction, dangerous behaviors, or thoughts of suicide. When asked who they would turn to for help if they were in emotional distress, most people list their friends as a top source of support. Sometimes people see asking for help as a sign of weakness so you can comfort your friend by giving them an example of a time you or someone you know struggled and needed support. You can feel better. Your friend may feel hopeless or like no one can understand or help them, so it’s important to make them see that reaching out for support is the first step to feeling better. Mental health problems are treatable and manageable once identified, so sometimes we need a mental checkup in the same way we get other medical exams. It’s OK to ask for help. Remember that our backgrounds, cultures and experiences can have a huge impact on how we view help-seeking. Some people may come from families or cultures where asking for help or seeing a mental health professional is shunned or thought of as weak. Thinking about why a friend might be reluctant get help can be important in deciding how to suggest they reach out for support.
