I learned that the revised Science 5 K-12 curriculum emphasizes not just knowledge but also the development of scientific skills and positive attitudes toward learning science (KSA).

Things I found interesting:

I found it interesting how the curriculum now encourages students to ask real-world questions and conduct simple investigations using everyday materials.

Questions I have:

I wonder how teachers will effectively implement the changes in the revised curriculum.

The things I found interesting was in unpacking the learning competency, it is easy to clarify the lesson because it has equal distribution of LCs.

The questions I have was how to make lesson objectives in making lesson plan that will align the learning competency.

Also, I find it interesting that the choice of which learning competencies to be unpacked falls to the teacher, because this gives teacher the flexibility and freedom to tailor his/ her lessons according to the current level of his/ her students.

Lastly, the questions I have is will I'll be able to follow through this great endeavour in Deped? But teachers are resilient and strategic, in time I will be able to find a way to aligned my teaching to the new curriculum.

I learned the difference between the current curriculum and the revised k to 10 curriculum. The revised is much clearer than the current one.

I find it interesting that the revised curriculum is more attainable although there is a need to unpack, which needs more time.

Questions I have...

Can we be given enough time to unpack competencies for each subject?

-unpacking learning competencies that suited on the students capabilities and readiness.

-objectives must be suited to competencies and should be SMART.

-There are different approaches to use in assessing science lesson such as:

Project-based learning

Inquiry-based

Cross-cut

Things that I found interesting:

Teaching-learning in science is very interesting because teachers can use authentic materials to deliver the lessons that is more interesting and meaningful to the students.

Question I have in mind:

Are there more materials be given to teachers to teach science effectively?

There were lot of things that I have learned, to highlight some of it was to make life more easier in teaching, unpacked competencies based on the capacity of learners. Making more easy to deliver lessons if it is in simplified form.

What matters most the discussion is to relate it to real life situation. Since science is the window of life, it is very much interesting and engaging to let learners explore the surrounding.

Availability of learning resources such as books?

My question is:
How will the government ensure that all teachers are fully trained to effectively implement the changes in the revised curriculum?

Things I found interesting … is that the number of competencies, significantly reduced and focused only on most essential competencies. And also, lesson focus, in current curriculum general and sometimes confusing performance tasks. In revised k to 10 curriculum, clearer goals and performance standards aligned with each learning competency.

Question I have … What challenges might teachers and schools face in transitioning to the revised curriculum?

Through the purely informative discussion,I really admired Science as subject to explore with more fun together with my learners. I learned to classified the content,content standards, and learning competency.Beside,I learned to make objectives to the given learning competency using Bloom's taxonomy.

In various session's activities, I really appreciate with our group's collaboration,sharing ang observing different ideas,in order to meet the group's final decision.

I learned that Revised K12 curriculum aims to simplify the current curriculum by focusing on fundamental skills and reducing the number of learning areas .

Things I found interesting:

I found in the Revised K12 curriculum is the emphasis of the 21st Century Skills which redefinining the development and mastery of foundational skills, technolgy and engineering.

Questions I have:

Is the learning resources available for the said curriculum?

I have learned that the revised K to 10 Science curriculum represents a significant shift towards a more focused, relevant, and engaging educational approach. By reducing the number of competencies and emphasizing foundational skills and hands-on learning, the curriculum aims to better prepare students for both academic success and real-world challenges. The phased implementation strategy will allow for a smoother transition for educators and students alike.

The things that I found interesting was the context of Transdisciplinary approach wherein the teachers effectively integrate project based learning across subjects by aligning project objectives with standards from various subjects and allowing students to explore them holistically.
