         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are many themes present in this novel. One theme is the acceptance of differences in cultural beliefs.  Matt and Attean both learn to accept and understand the differences in their beliefs and ways of following different rules. This is evident when Matt realizes Attean's dog is caught in a trap and he needs to decide how to handle it while trying to respect the Indian rules. </p>]]></description>
