<title>Combining suffixes and prefixes: converting words in EnglishA remarkable characteristic of word formation is that a whole group of words can be formed from one root and stem. By stringing prefixes and suffixes on stems, we can get different forms of words in English. Let&#39;s see how such a transformation is accomplished:Agree =&gt; disagree =&gt; disagreeable / disagreement. Agree =&gt; Disagree =&gt; Disagree / Disagree.Laugh =&gt; laughter =&gt; laughable. Laugh =&gt; laugh =&gt; ridiculous.Body =&gt; embody =&gt; embodiment. Body =&gt; incarnate =&gt; incarnation.</title>

<title>Conversion: new words without external changesNow let&#39;s look at conversion - a way of word formation in which words from one part of speech pass into another. Words change their meaning without changing the spelling and sound. The noun email appeared in English long before the verb. Until a decade ago, the only possible option was to say: send an email (where email is a noun), while now we can just email people (where email is a verb). The most productive, that is, often used, is the conversion of nouns into verbs:</title>
