After watching the poetry slam attached, you will need to write your own poem entitled "If you give a Child a Word", "Now you see me" or  "You just don't know". You need to include a minimum of 3 terms that you have recently learned, or already know about: plot, conflict, or characterization.

Assignment is due: Tuesday - September 6th @ the beginning of class.
If you choose to make a video clip, I welcome you to challenge yourself and email it as an attachment to my email address: cynthia.coronado@harlandale.net 
The best poems will be displayed. Students will earn a FREE HOMEWORK PASS. Late work will not be accepted.

You just don’t know
Hundreds of footsteps
Scramble throughout these halls.
 Papers plummeting 
Like autumn falls.
You just don’t know.
Four-minute time transition to class. Ha! 
Just in time…
Teacher utters
“Take out your homework”
You scramble through your backpack
 pull out a crumbled note that reads: 
“Do you like me? Check yes or no.
Can’t think
Thoughts in your mind racing like electrons
Where could it be?
You just don’t know
It’s a conflict within yourself
You know man vs self
Like a character in a story
Without a conflict you have no plot!
Now you know.
