Through this album, we can see how much Kesha has grown within herself and within her musical abilities. Kesha was unhappy with the music she had to put out  prior to the lawsuit because they didn’t fully represent her abilities. One of her well-known past albums was “Animal” in 2010. This was when she was seen as a dumb party girl, whose music mainly focuses on sex and partying. Under Dr. Luke’s label, Ke$ha got a lot of fame and record sales, but wasn’t well seen by the public for her image as well as her music. Her current album has shocked many due to her talent and her presence. Her current albums have more substance to them and it really explores her capabilities. The goals of the record are to show and spread empowerment, her many vocal talents, her songwriting abilities, her music has real substance, rebrand and change her sound, and make this album a reflection of who she is. I love the power of her voice, the change in genre and overall sound, the change in subject, and I love how her attitude about life and the hardships she has faced thus far are reflected well within this album. I see Kesha reaching new heights. Though that’s very cliché, she was already famous and successful even after getting bad reviews and having a rather unfavorable reputation, but now people see her more for who she is, they can see she has real talent, and she’s gotten great reviews so far. I believe her presence in media will become even greater. Does this album measure up to my expectations prior to its release? Very much so. I knew that Kesha was holding back some real potential, but in all honestly, she surpassed anything I expected.
