There are many causes of the Great Depression but the most impactful was the longer term economic trends of the 1920s. The stock market crash was the result of all these trends and thus is the second most significant cause. The Hoover administration took was a passive attempt and the least significant cause of them all.

The primary cause of the Great Depression would be the economic trends in the 1920s. More people invested in stocks and in turn many companies could not keep up with the investments, causing a crash in the market. Another cause would be the passive treatment of the Hoover administration, where they believed that the economy would balance itself out. It only made economic and social factors worse for Americans.

Id say that the stock market crash is the most significant cause of the great depression. This is because it led to the accumulation of other causes. One of these was overproduction and underconsumption, because the people could no longer afford many goods. This ended up leading to economic troubles as america raised the tariffs on foreign goods and farmers went into debt. All of this was a result of the stock market crash, and all contributed to the Great Depression.

The primary cause of the Great Depression was the unchecked financial speculation and risky banking practices that led to the 1929 stock market crash, caused by pro-business policies of the 1920s that encouraged deregulation and economic imbalance. While industrial overproduction and declining consumer demand contributed to economic instability, and the Hawley-Smoot Tariff worsened international trade relations.

The Great Depression was caused by many factors that aren’t only the stock market crash. For example, the instability and eventual failure of banks along with the Smoot-Hawley Act caused the Great Depression. Due to excess use in credit, banks didn’t have enough money to repay everyone following the crash, causing banks to fail. The Smoot-Hawley Act caused a decrease in American exports, which led to debt and unemployment.

The most important causes of the Great Depression were the laissez faire government structure, and the tax cuts given out at the time. These factors led to a Great Depression as the hands off government paired with the reduced amount of taxes the government received led the government to have less impact and reduced power to fix the economic problem.

The stock market crash of 1929 was a large scale affect of the 1920s economic trends and is the second most significant cause. The hoover administrations casual approach toward the economy, contributed to the cause of the Great Depression, but was the least consequential.

The Great Depression was an event in history that was caused by various economic problems. The Stock Market and underconsumption are a few factors, but the Stock Market had the greatest impact on the cause of the Great Depression. The people invested a lot of money into the stock market, but the stocks began to crash down in value, and many people tried to sell the stocks they had left, but it was too late and the economy was doomed. Underconsumption was another factory, because factories weren’t able to profit which caused them to lose money and shut down, which led to mass unemployment.
