We researced about the animals’ lifespan, habitat, size etc. and we presented it in the class.

In my opinion, this session was very useful for us and our students. I liked the websites which we studied today. Especially fablecottage.com, britishcouncilteens.com and oxfordonlineenglish.com were very effective and enjoyable. We can adapt our courses with the help of these websites.
On the other hand, listening activities for pre-while and post parts were very effective and challenging. Making small changes for the weaker and stronger students were the main point of the lesson.

Students feel lack of confidence while they are speaking. There are some reasons for this. For example they don’t feel relax because English isn’t their mother tongue. They are afraid of making mistakes. As a teacher we should make our students feel relaxed. They don’t feel anxious while they are speaking. Emotions are important part of the speaking activities. We can perform at their own level. We should support less confident students and help the stronger ones to improve themselves. We should set the words or phrases before speaking activity.

In speaking part, building confidence is really important. Because most of the students have lack of self- confidence while they are speaking. As a teacher we should allow enough time and integrating skills for speaking. We should monitor and take notes. We should use role plays which are close to real life. We shouldn’t interrupt and utilise delayed feedback to guide students to self- correction.

In reading part, the reading text’s level is really important. We need to use a range of different text types to practise all the sub-skills.
Today we learnt onion rings warm-up activity. In my opinion, it was very useful and effective way of learning. It can be applied in our classrooms.
Pre- while- post activities for reading was very effective.
On the other hand, we studied flipped learning classroom. It was very new and exciting way to teach English. But it’s more useful for responsible students. The students should do their homework at home or outside of the class if they want to be successful. Also they should have Internet, tablets, smart phones in order to access.

Perfect match activity was a really good warm up activity related to collocations, synonyms and antonyms.I’ll try to apply it.
Words can have different meaning according to the context. So using the new words in the sentences is very crutial for learners. Ss can use personalized sentences so that the words are added to long term memory. The new words should be activated by using them in the real life.

In the assessment part, it was really good to see how we will evalute four skills. It was very beneficial for us. Learning a language isn’t a linear process. Learners don’t master one item and then move on to another. Progress is more important than grade or mark. I think progress is the difference between input and output.

There are some challenges in PLCs. Teachers won’t be volunteer.
Meeting organizations aren’t planned well.
Teachers will be forced to attend the meeting and we will be the one who listens to their complaints.
