         <description><![CDATA[<div>IN the 19 century the Apache where at war with the Zuni tribe.  There language that they used was also used in western Canada.  The tribe in the old times always stayed in one place but they finally adapted to nomadic ways.  In the 1700's the Apache farmers moved north to Kansas where the soil was very rich.  At the end of the 17th century they might have instigated the Pueblo Rebellion.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The name Ponca was used by other Native American tribes to mean "head cutters". They were forcibly moved onto reservations in Oklahoma from a tragic story of Chief Standing bear. They mainly extended across the present-day states Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. When the Ponca people moved to the Great Plains they adopted the tepee. The Ponca tribe spoke the Dhegihan dialect of the Siouan language.They had something called pemmican which was dried buffalo for when food was scarce.</div>]]></description>

They also signed the Fort Laramie Treaty in which the US mistakenly gives the Ponca land to the Sioux.          <description><![CDATA[<div>when it became clear that the Lakota and other Native Americans were not going to win this war alone, so they stated doing the Ghost Dance. Though out the whole  plains Indian tribes were doing the ghost Dance hoping to have aid from spirits in the process of wining back there land. At the battle of wounded knee almost all the Lakota were killed, and all who live were forced to  move to rervations.</div>]]></description>

When it was cold the men would where warm buffalo robes or cloaks. For their shoes, they wore sandals or moccasins. Their religion was christian.They didn't have many specific customs. The woman wore knee-length dresses, leggings, and buffalo robes in bad weather. Both men and women wore jewelry like necklaces, wristbands, and earrings.</div>]]></description>
