This book has magic in it. Effie thinks her gradfathers book were magic. The spectical were also magic they helped Maximilian. I agree with the review against each other and the everyday world and the magic world. You had to know some special stuff before you go into the magic world. The dragon could be sexist but i think he is eating the girls to become smarter.
