         <description><![CDATA[<div>Stalin used propaganda to win the hearts and minds of soviet citizens.<br>Stalin attempted to increase faith in communism and in himself, he made himself seem like a god-like figure. <br>Used posters, news, radio. <br>Modern technology was used to spread the "good" in communism and the evils of capitalism, propaganda, within schools, factories, villages and all soviet citizens.<br>Stalin required artist and writers to go along with socialist realism.<br>The state controlled what artist and writers could put out in the country. <br>Those who disobeyed the socialist realism ways were not treated well for example Osip Mandelstam, whom was imprisoned, tortured, and exiled for composing a satirical verse about stalin. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>
