They're loved around the world and are seen as the beacon of light and defenders of the people. In the story, Renegades, it gives the viewpoints of Nova and Adrian, both were two different mindsets but have the same goals. Nova is an Anarchist. She's the niece of infamous Ace Anarchy. She has a reason for hating the Renegades and will do anything to stop. Adrian has faith in the Renegades, being one himself, but he can't help to think back to the old days. The Renegades seem more like governors and celebrities than heroes. With Nova, being an Anarchist, and knowing the reason as to why she doesn't like the Anarchists, it's easy to change your opinion of the famed superheroes. But hearing Adrian's praise and admiration, makes you pause. I found the characters interesting. They didn't seem one-dimensional. They had thoughts and emotions and feelings. Even the 'evil' characters had some quirky and relatable traits to them. This book reminded me of the superhero cartoons and movies I used to watch. The author plays with childhood nostalgia, modern times, and science. The story drew in connections to the Avengers, the Justice League, and more. This doesn't have any lyrics but I think it sums up the Renegades perfectly. It sounds music playing during a battle or an epic costume change. This story is rich of characters and setting. Gatlon City is like modern-day New York or Gotham City like Batman. You wouldn't be disappointed. You will find yourself cheering for both the superheroes and villains!
