Being a female has so many unspoken narratives, be soft, but not too soft. I'm a female, trying to lead other females into empowerment. I've been pushed to embody femininity my entire life. I feel very lucky to also have been pushed to know women can move mountains.

I am a life long martial artist, I started 19 years ago. I spent years learning, teaching, perfecting, competing, and repeating that cycle. I practice taekwondo which originates in korea. These differences in high and low context cultures really shown to me through this lens. As being an art based from a different culture, it can majorly be dependent on social cues, and behaviors.

I grew up in the US, with a great love for my country. I grew up with my mom as a Navy veteran, her brothers both military as well. I grew up learning that our country and love for her is what will keep us moving forward as a community. I spent the majority of my childhood in a small town, where there was seemingly a lot of collective thoughts. We were taught to love your neighbor, and go out of our way to always say hello.

I've recently been introduced to the outdoors, I say recent as I did not grow up hiking, camping etc. I've grown to see the diversity in the outdoors in the last few years as I spend more time out exploring. I meet new people everywhere I go, and theres nothing more relating than looking over a pass when you and a stranger have been neck and neck up a switchback. The outdoors welcomes everyone, regardless of orientation, religion, ability.

5 years ago I became a mother to a little boy. I remember feeling afraid, excited, and overwhelmed all in one blow. Being a mother has shaped me in ways I couldn't ever imagine. It's taught me to be empathetic, and it's taught that every action I do, has an equal reaction. It's also taught me that love is endless. It's exhausting, but endless.
