Listening To Music

Here I am listening to my favorite song. in order to do this there are many systems at work. I use my Temporal Lobe which is involved in primary auditory perception, such as listening to music. I also use the Right Hemisphere of my brain and my Broca's Area. the Broca's Area is used to form sentences which I have to do in order to sing along. As well as the right hemisphere which is used to perform tasks that involve creativity and the arts. nothing speaks creative like a good ole sing along.

Working Out

Here I am seen working out and getting those reps in. In order to do this I have to use many different parts of my body. I use the Medulla, which regulates breathing and heart/blood vessel function, in order to stay balanced and good breathing during work outs. I also use my Cerebellum. My cerebellum helps me maintain posture, balance, coordination, and balanced muscular activity during exercise. My Hypothalamus is also a crucial part of my brain because it helps the body maintain homeostasis. One way it continues homeostasis while I work out is by sweating!

Here, as you can see, I am sleeping very soundly. in order to maintain a good nights sleep different parts of my brain have to work together. My Thalamus is currently helping me sleep by regulating sleep and consciousnesses. My Pons is also working to maintain my breathing so I do not die in my sleep. A few minutes after this photo was taken my Amygdala came into use when I woke up from a nightmare. My amygdala functions to detect fear and prepare for emergency events.

Math Homework

In this picture I am struggling with my calculus homework. In order to do my work I have to use the Left Hemisphere of my brain. The left hemisphere is responsible for controlling the right side of the body and performing tasks that have to do with logic. When it comes to actually solving these tough questions I use my Frontal and Parietal Lobes. My frontal lobe is in charge of motor function (using my pencil), problem solving (which i need a lot of), and memory which are all key to doing math homework. My Parietal Lobe while doing calculus is working on processing language and mathematics.

Driving

In this picture you can see me driving. There are lots of components that go into driving. Whether its memory or spatial navigation the Hippocampus regulates it. without the hippocampus I would not be able to remember the driving rules. Another part of the brain that impacts the action of driving is the Occipital Lobes. These are used for vision. Without sight I would not be able to drive. The Wernicke's Area is also key. the Wernicke's Area is the part of the brain that understands language. Without this I would not be able to read road signs.
