words are misunderstood sometimes.

 Another lesson is you need writing  for every

job out there. Stories could be twisted around

if told orally. From all these examples I learned to be more clear on what I say,  learn my language, write neater and fix my spelling mistakes.

our language right.  Alanna told us about the TREATIES and we played a

game of the TREATIES. I want to pass on this history. Mary TAUGHT me

about WILD RICE and how the TOOLS were used and how they made

them, where they COLLECT them and how long it takes.

This is making me want to do some research on

people who went to war under age. It makess me

think why they wanted to go to war?

throwing trash away. When I listened to the song, it made me think of the earth as beautiful and I felt like it shouldn't be treated like trash. I've seen people pollute, burn trash and heard about global warming. My comic strip had comedy and a moral.

Well, Eight Keys taught me to be grateful for what family I have,

Because Elise had lost her parents, and a friend.  I ended up thinking

"What if that was me? What if I lost my parents?"

It made me think of a piece of advice she had gotten in one of the rooms, 

Chose to live, Chose to Love. "If my mother had left, would I continue love

if I had children later on? Or would I just spend life in mourn?"

not take our language away on purpose, the nuns 

didn't understand the residential students language 

and thought the students were making fun of them and

 what they were trying to teach. So the nuns told the

students not to speak their language because it was not

funny to them. So this shows me that the nuns and students

should have tried to communicate and understand one another. 

It is important not to assume meanings, but people should try to

listen to one another.

was supposed to be pronounced, how wild rice is collected, even the duties of the chief or "Gimaa", and a funny 

story about a "devil". The most important thing I will keep from the presenters is to learn about the history of my home 

and people and to respect all people and nature.

Matt learns to respect nature and the Native Americans. In Eight Keys

Elise is honest to her best friend Franklin and told him he

embarrassed her. In Flyboy Robbie is brave enough to be a navigator

on a Lancaster and he ends up piloting the ship with 2 engines,

In Maniac Magee he tells the family he tells the truth that he cant stay with them

because bad things happen. In Taste Of Blackberries he learns to be wise and ends up learning

lessons.

the land Wikwemikong Reserve is trying to get back like

Heywood and Fitzwilliam island. They even taught me about the graves

behind Kaboni, the park they are trying to make and Skull Point. This information

made me appreciate the land of the community we have. I

started to look at the maps of our area more.

I broke the camera stand. Then Mrs. Pulkkinen talked to me about 

it. The main character talked to people to cope with his friend dying

and he had to forgive himself and be honest with himself

and that is what I did. It helped me to feel better again.

These traditions are used to remember the ones who have passed, this connects to the visitor John Manitowabi

when he talked about when the first settlers of Wiky buried people and they weren't from the area.

Our people helped them by burying them and today the graves are still respected. from this I learned that it's important to help people that

are not from this area

I practice skateboarding and I gain some skill. I started to study videos of people skateboarding. I watch their foot placement and movement of their body and legs. If I can’t get a trick right I go to my cousin Jerry about how I should be doing it. If I can’t get a trick right but I almost got it I just keep on trying and never give up.
