*lungs-main organs of the respiratory system
*Respiration-the process by which the oxygen and glucose undergo a complex series of chemical reactions inside cells
*nose-air enters the body mostly through the nose sometimes the mouth
*pharynx- is another word for the throat
*larynx- voice box
*trachea- or the wind pipe is the passage through which air moves in the respiratory
*bronchiole- passageways which air passes through the nose or mouth to the alveoli or the air sacs of the lungs,
*bronchus-the passage that direct air into the lungs
*alveoli- tiny scales of lung tissue specialized for the movement
*diaphragm- a dome shaped muscular partition separating the the thorax from the abdomen
*cilia- tiny hairlike extensions that can move together like a whips.The cilia sweeps the mucus into the throat where you swallow
*vocal cords-folds of connective tissue that stretch across the opening of the voice box and produces a persons voice
