I was trying really hard to continue listening to the center image but it became increasingly more difficult to the point where it was impossible to make out what was being said. I tried reading lips and that didn't work out for very long so I gave in to the distractions. There were definitely a lot more interesting things to look at around the frame than the center video! I was curious to see how the video would portray ADHD, but honestly caught myself about 30 seconds in no longer even watching it- my attention was already elsewhere. In trying to rewatch it several times after, 1 thing I found most interesting about the depiction was that they keep the main speaker fixated, the same size frame in the center of the screen for the full duration of the video. At least in my experience of trying to pay attention, It is less like being fixated on one thing for a long time while other surrounding things compete and overlap w your central focus (like the vid. shows) Instead its more like the center focus of attention is constantly shifting from one thing to another while other simultaneous things, compete for, grab, or are zoned out from my attention.

It made me think of our ASD simulation, but there at least you could read the readers lips and really try to focus. When the music came on it made me realize how totally impossible and helpless it would feel if I were in that situation with all those thoughts running through my head. I noticed that I was particularly distracted by movement in the videos. It helped me see how a position near the doorway or near busy parts of the classroom would be detrimental to a student with ADHD's focus levels. I was also drawn back to the movement in the main video when he used his hands. This made me realize how important movement and gestures on the teacher's part are for trying to draw students back into focus when they are faced by many distractions.
