The Nama People either disbanded relationships with Germans or rebelled against after seeing what Germans had been doing ( the genocide). The Nama people who rebelled, however, did not succeed in their retaliation.

There was a movement called SWAPO (stands for South West African People Organization)the organization was created to fight for independence. The United Nations saw the recognition of the name Namibia and they  were given independent. Recognizing the forgotten tribes' existence is certainly a huge step in this genocides regard.
