         <description><![CDATA[<p>The word Protista derives from the Greek word protistos which means the very first. Protists are eukaryotic organisms that aren't plants animals or fungi. There are three types of protists, animal-like, plant-like, and fungus-like protists. They are thought of to be the very first eukaryotic forms of life and came before plants, animals, and fungi. Protists are mostly unicellular but some can be multicellular such as see-weed which is a plant-like protest also known as algae. Protists reproduce asexually through binary fission and multiple fission. Protists get around by cilia, and flagella and some have pseudopodia which can also be used to feed.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Animal-like protists also known as protozoa are mainly unicellular eukaryotic organelles that live in all wet or moist areas. Some of them are predators which feed off of other organisms while others are decomposers. They reproduce with binary fission and multiple fission. They move using amoeboid cytoplasmic flow, cilia, or flagellum. They benefit the environment by being a food source and a big contributor to the food chain, they are oxygen providers, and they can be used as biofuel which could replace traditional fossil fuels. In their environment, they aid the nutrient cycle, decompose organisms, and are a food source.</p>]]></description>

There are four types of plant-like protists, these are the amoeba, the flagellates, the ciliates, and the sporozoans. They move using a flagellum, cilia, or pseudopods. They are beneficial because they recycle and decompose stuff that humans need to survive, they make up nearly one-half of the oxygen in the air, and they help aid the respiration cycle.</p>]]></description>

They feed by eating their food, or by digesting it inside themselves or they can digest outside their bodies by secreting enzymes. They reproduce using spores asexually. They get around using cytoplasmic streaming. They are beneficial because they contribute to the carbon cycle, contribute to the soil carbon stock and get rid of dead organic matter.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Fungi play an important role in the environment, the environment, they are primary decomposers that get rid of dead plants and animals, help keep the soil healthy, and help with carbon sequestration, also they secrete gasses such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Fungi have a cell wall, cell membrane, Golgi apparatus, nucleus, and mitochondria. They have hyphae which absorb nutrients, a mycelium which is the roots, and they have chitin and glucans which are a rigid wall that protects the fungi. Fungi's main function is to decompose organic matter and release it into the atmosphere as nitrogen, phosphate, and carbon. Fungi are not only useful to the environment but also to humans, we use them to make medicine like penicillin, and we also use them to cook and to produce growth hormones. Mycorrhizae are mutualistic relationships between plant roots and fungi that enhance nutrient and water uptake.</p>]]></description>
