Basically I'm a big brother to a 13 year old, Derek, and a 9 year old, Chia. A big part of my identity and motivation through life is my commitment to them. I was raised to be a very affectionate brother, and I honestly think my siblings and I get along a lot better than most siblings do. How people get along with my brothers is my ultimate vibe check, and if you can't get along with them then I cannot get along with you.

For 3 years of my life I was a REALLY BIG climate organizer/activist at Houston Youth Climate Strike (HYCS), a 501 c 4 non-profit interest group dedicated to advancing meaningful action on climate change via peaceful protest, petition, lobbying, and so much more. Definitely the hardest thing I ever did but also the most rewarding. You see, my whole life I have been environmentally inclined, and when I got to high school HYCS became my outlet to act on the issues that I cared most about. It just so happened to be political, so when I got to Harvard I wanted to study ESPP & government. My interests kind of diverged a little bit since last fall. Now im considering ESPP + CS for LOTS OF REASONs i could go on about.

Hey y'all! My name is Devin Guevara (he/him/his) and I'm a sophomore FROM HOUSTON TX in Winthrop that will hopefully be studying Environmental Science & Public Policy (and maybe CS?). I serve as the director for Professional Development at the Harvard Undergraduate Clean Energy Group (HUCEG) and the Director of Administration at the Harvard Association for Cultivating Inter-american (HACIA) Democracy, which is basically latin-american model un. Outside of that I've been involved in IOP policy research & citizenship tutoring, FYRE Programming, Fuerza, and more! I also work at the Harvard Shop FYRE babies <3

So basically this is a picture of some volcanoes and cattle pasture in the region that my mom is from in Guatemala. She was born there and she left when she was 3, but we go back all the time and I've technically lived a year and a half of my life in Guatemala (multiple months put together that is). I love guate so much, there's so many people I love that are there, and it is incredibly gorgeous. Where we live in guatemala (cuz we have a house there) it is SUPER HOT but still not as hot as Houston.
