Firstly students must get involved in learning. If they feel that knowledge is useful, that is, meaningful, then, they will be receptive to learning new things. Secondly, if students get help from their peers, they can feel more comfortble about their failuress / achievements. *Every student is unique and as teachers, we should take our students' needs, interests, abilities, ideas and feelings into consideration. We should give them voice and choice.
*When students feel that they belong to a group, they are more enthusiastic about the given tasks and more willing to take responsibilities. Helping each other and focusing on the tasks/projects makes them more self-confident.

These are the tips I use for myself everyday but that have been highly improved and reinforced with this course:

- Students are people, not numbers: get to know them, be sensitive to their contexts and their personal learning styles and interests, then help them know themselves better and stimulate them to aim/reach higher

- Students love learning: don’t ruin it for them – create opportunities to let them choose, to bring their interest and previous knowledge to class and then make the best use of your patience, creativity, humour and knowledge to guide their way

Lately I have started learning myself another language and so I can experience and feel what my students feel in the class. So tips I would give to any teacher:
- Imagine yourself being in their place: Would you feel secure and safe to express yourself. say that you did not understand or that you do not like the approach or that it is not your learning style? Would you feel engaged and motivated to take part in the lesson and to look for more information? Do you believe that what you are learning is relevant to your life?
- Cater for all students. No student should be invisible. Cater for those who prefer to learn individually and for those who prefer to learn collaboratively.
- If you want your students to be motivated, show them that YOU are motivated YOURSELF and that you love what you are doing. Include the fun element in your teaching.
-RESPECT and LOVE your students as if they were your own kids.
- DO NOT FORGET that our students bring a baggage with them to school full of personal experiences, feelings and emotions. Sometimes these baggage are heavy for them to carry. Be empathic

My guiding principles when teaching are:
- respect all students - never humiliate anyone, no matter how weak they are
- try to connect information obtained in class with the life outside the classroom
- be consistent with the rules negotiated with the students in the beginning

First of all, I'd like to thank you for this nice & interesting course. I learned a lot... compliments for sharing the 'Harkness table' & the 'Visual learning wall' as creative techniques regarding to successfully collaborative learning. I loved this course specially because it was so useful to my practice. I strat using some of these strategies and used the videos to promote discussion among my peers. One of the most interesting things was learning spaces and enviroment of learning.
Teachers have to be aware of what students already know and start from their knowlege to create challenging scenarios and never forget that each student has his own way of learning.

I personally consider the creation of a STUDENT-DRIVEN ENVIRONMENT as one of the most important thing learnt during the course! I knew this approach, but to see in the videos its application was amazing!

Students who have never collaborated together won't do so automatically. Start with something small. Explain every step. Evaluate the process and the work so they see you value their effort and that everything is not dependent on their ability to do written tests. And if it's not as successful as you would have hoped... just do it again until it becomes a natural part of your class. (Don't introduce changes in the process until they are used to this new way of working). Your students will love you for it!!

When the students enter a different classroom for the first time and we start the collaborative learning process it is very hard, for us and for them. We should start from the beginning during pre-school and primary.

Here are 3 less-obvious, practical tips you could share:

Use “invisible roles” in group work: instead of obvious roles (leader, writer), assign subtle responsibilities like “question challenger” or “connection maker” to deepen thinking without making it feel rigid.
Build in ‘pause and pivot’ moments: halfway through a task, ask groups to briefly stop and rethink their approach—this improves reflection and prevents groups from going too far in the wrong direction.
Let students design part of the task constraints: give them limited control over rules (e.g., format, tools, or audience), which increases ownership without losing structure.
