On Monday I woke up at half past four in the morning. I quickly got ready and then waited for my uncle, who picked my parents and I up and took us to the airport.
We got in the plane at quarter to seven, but the fog did not let us take off until quarter past eight.
Due to that, we missed the flight from Madrid to Athens, so we booked another one from Madrid to Rome.

We were lucky and had enough seats for everyone, but then we had to go to Athens. When we were going to board that last flight we were told we needed FFP2 masks. Luckily I had a few extra ones on my bag, so we could get the flight and get to Athens.

We got there at nine and went from Athens' airport to Messolongi in a van. When we got there we left with the kids we were assigned to.

On Tuesday we woke up at half past seven and went to the school. There all the Erasmus students took a bus to Patra. We visited the university and were shown a robot and a domotic house.
Then we went to Olympia, but the bus broke down and we had to stop at a petrol station to wait for another one.
After these two very interesting visits we went back to the Greek kids' homes and went to sleep, as we were very tired.

The next day we went to the school and didn't take the bus. Instead we stayed there to learn about the assistant Amazon Alexa and to learn a typical greek dance.
Then we went to the botanical garden, where we were taught about different plants and their uses, and also did an activity with clay.

We went back to the homes and had a few hours of free time.
After that we went to the lagoon of Messolongi and took a boat ride around it. I had so much fun. After that we went back to the homes.

On Thursday we went to the town hall, where we met the mayor. He was really nice and we were given a cap and a t-shirt as a present.

In the afternoon we visited the salt museum by turns. After that we had dinner at a restaurant owned by one of the Greek kids' family.
Everyone took many pictures there, as everything was beautiful and we arrived just on time to see the sunset.

After having dinner we all started dancing the Greek dance we were taught together. We had a lot of fun and then we went back to the homes.

On Friday we woke up again to go to the school, and after doing a kahoot game and learning a little bit more with Alexa we had some free time all together at the school. After that we left by bus go go to Athens. Many people cried, as we did not want to leave.
When we arrived in Athens the other Erasmus students left to go to the airport, but we went to a hotel to spend the weekend.
After we left our thing in our rooms we went for a walk around Athens and then went back to the hotel to sleep.

On Saturday we woke up very early to go have breakfast with the sunrise. However it turned out we couldn't see it very well because a mountain was in front of it.
Then we went to the Acropolis. Everything there was beautiful.

After the visit we ate gyros, and then we had some free time we used to go buy presents for our family and friends.
After that we walked around the city to see some new places and the had dinner together.

We went back to the hotel with the plan of watchin Eurovision, but we were really tired so we all went to sleep.

On Sunday we went for a last walk before leaving and then went to the airport.
This time my bag beeped at the security scan, but I guess it happened because of the magnets I had bought. However they didn't tell me anything, so we got in the plane without any issues. We got to Madrid and had to wait a long time to take the flight to Asturias, so we all spent time together and played with a tarot deck I had bought for a friend. After we got to Asturias my uncle and my parents came to take me home and I went to sleep as soon as I got home.

I had a lot of fun on this trip.

Monday 9,

I got up at 4:30 in the morning, to get to the airport and catch the flight to Madrid, which was delayed due to fog, which caused us to miss the flight to Athens and had to fly to Rome, boarding at six in period and we arrived in athens at nine twenty.

When we got off the plane, we boarded a bus that dropped us off near the van that would take us to Messolongi, where we arrived at twelve o'clock at night. There we were received by our assigned families. In my case, my family (which I shared with another Spanish girl) took me by car to the house, and here the real experience began.

Tuesday 10,

The mother of the family woke me up at seven twenty in the morning, gave me time to get ready and went to breakfast, then the father took us by car to school, where a lot of very nice people came to meet us, and we We got on a bus that took us to the University of Patra, where they showed us a home automation house and a robot prepared for robotics competitions.

Then we got back on the bus and went to Olympia where we had lunch and visited the museum and the archaeological remains. We returned on the bus with music, a great atmosphere and the sunset in the background. As an anecdote, the bus broke down and we had to wait for another.

When we finally arrived the Spanish girls went out with our assigned Greek girls to have a typical meal for dinner, the gyros, then we all went to sleep because it had been a very long day and we were tired.

Wednesday 11,

We had some classes in high school where we learned about Alexa and her functions and a traditional Greek dance, in which we all danced in a circle.

In the morning we also visited a viewpoint where there were also ruins and we also went by bus to the botanical garden, where apart from talking about plants and showing us a tower built from bottles and caps, they taught us how to melt a material they could make plaques that they later gave us. That day we ate there, and around three in the afternoon we returned home and had free time.

In the afternoon we took a bus and went to the Messolongi lake, where we got on a boat and took a tour of the salt flats. Later, a colleague and I decided to swim in the lake at sunset to enjoy the experience and have a good time. In the end, we took the bus again that took us to the institute and from there we went home, showered and went out to dinner with our new group of friends. We got home around twelve o'clock and went to bed.

Thursday 12,

We got up at the same time as usual, and we walked around the city, as it was full of things to see, and we were on our way to the town hall where we met the mayor, a charming and very smiling man who gave us a talk and They gave everyone a bag full of souvenirs. We also had a few free hours in the city, where we took the opportunity to go shopping.

That day we were picked up by the family of the girl who should have taken care of the Spanish colleague who lived with me, and we ate at her house, which gave us the opportunity to try true Greek cuisine. There we were playing some games and enjoying the time and the company with two Greek girls and a Turkish girl.

My host family picked me up again and I had some free time at home.

A while later they picked us up and took us to the salt museum, where they paid us a visit. And from there we went to the beach, where we had some free time that we used to have a drink and play volleyball together.

Later we had dinner in a restaurant, with stunning views and one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. The restaurant was next to the pier and there was a totally magical atmosphere. We all had dinner together divided into two long tables and then we all danced together the typical Greek dance that we had learned, it was a totally spectacular day, although there were also many tears, hugs and feelings, since we knew that it was already ending.

The families picked us up by car and we returned home to rest.

Friday 13,

We got up as always at the same time, and they took us to the institute where we continued learning with Alexa and playing a kahoot about robotics, apart from sharing moments and laughter with a lot of very nice new people. There they said goodbye giving us a diploma, some sweets and a snack that we all shared, apart from many hugs and again tears. We also took the last group photo.

Some Spanish and Greek friends went to have a drink together as a farewell and from there we returned home to finish our bags and go to the bus station. A detail that would stand out was how charming the family was, and at the farewell the father gave us a rose from his garden to our house, apart from a gift for us and another for our families.

At the station we said goodbye this time, really, with lots of love and a lot of desire to see each other again and we got on the bus towards Athens.

We arrived in Athens around five in the afternoon, where we hugged with the Turkish and Portuguese companions who accompanied us on the bus, and we took a bus that took us to the hotel.

Even so, we had to walk for a while, which allowed us to admire Athens, a really beautiful city. At six we finally arrived at the hotel and an hour later we went out for a walk.

We went up to a viewpoint from where we saw the sunset with the whole city, a landscape that I fell in love with. We took thousands of photos to remember, and went down to dinner at a hamburger. We also toured a neighborhood full of lights and colors inspired by "Alice in Wonderland" Around twelve o'clock at night we returned to the hotel, took a shower and enjoyed a while in the company of the rest of our Spanish colleagues before sleeping.

Saturday 14,

My colleagues and I got up at six in the morning to see the sunrise with the Acropolis and Athens in the background from the hotel terrace, where we had breakfast, an absolutely spectacular panorama.

Then we went up to visit the acropolis and learn a little about the history of Greece, a beautiful visit.

We also had free time that we used to see the city on our own, create many memories and buy a thousand things.

That day we ate at the restaurant with the best gyros in Greece, and then we went back to the hotel.

We left at six o'clock to see the changing of the guard and climb the Filopappou hill, where we were lucky enough to see a group of people singing with an impressive background.

Then we went back and had dinner at a restaurant near the hotel all together. Upon arrival at the hotel we met to watch Eurovision although due to fatigue we all ended up asleep.

Sunday 15,

It was the last day and it was difficult for us to assimilate it, we did not want to realize the reality after all that week, and we went for the last walk through the city and bought some last minute gifts. At twelve o'clock in the morning we went back to the hotel to get our bags and we went to take a subway and then another to arrive at the airport at two o'clock. There we ate and got on the plane to Madrid, where we arrived at 7.

Our flight to Asturias was delayed, so we had some time at the airport where we continued shopping, photos and games. We also ran into a famous rapper with whom we were lucky enough to take a picture and share a flight, at twenty past ten we finally boarded, and arrived in Asturias around half past eleven. At the airport we said goodbye knowing that we had spent one of the best weeks of our lives.

Monday:
First day, it could be summed up in planes and airports.
We took the first flight at 7 o'clock if I remember correctly from Asturias airport. Because of the fog we had to wait 1h and 20 minutes for the plane to leave. This meant that we did not make the Madrid - Athens flight and therefore had to divert to another flight. This other flight was a stopover in Rome and from there we took a Rome - Athens flight. Once we arrived in Athens at 9 pm we had to take a taxi-van with which we would go to Mesolongi. With all this we arrived in Mesolongi at 12 o'clock at night, at this time the host families picked us up and we went to their homes directly to sleep.

Tuesday:
Second day, University of Patras and Olympia.
We wake up around 8 am to go to school, here we are picked up by a bus that would take us first to Patras where the university we have to visit is located. Here we did two activities in two groups. First we were taken to see a robot which organized blocks according to color in an autonomous way. Then they took us down to a room in which they showed us different domotic functions such as turning off the lights when you lie down in bed; an assistant called Alexandra with which you could control some electronic devices or an intelligent mirror which told you your current status. Also in this last activity we were shown a VR flight simulator with the game Microsoft Simulator 2022.

After these activities, in the afternoon, we went to the city of Olympia, where we saw all the ruins of the ancient city that hosted the Olympic Games in ancient Greece.

Wednesday:
Third day, Plevrona, botanical garden and Lagoon experience.
First we headed to the school for two activities, one was an introduction about the virtual assistant Alexa, the other was learning about a traditional Greek dance.
After this we ride a bus which takes us to a mountain, where we see the ancient city of Plevrona and we are told about its history. Once the visit is over we go to a botanical garden where we have a guided tour together with an activity in which we made an aluminum plate with the aluminum of some soda cans.
Finally we approach the lagoon of the village, in this one a gentleman picks us up in a boat and takes us for a ride around it at the same time that a lady explains us what it is and what it is used for.

Thursday:
Fourth day, visit to the city and farewell dinner.
On this day we go to visit the city and we are received by the mayor at the town hall, he gives us a talk about the importance of the Erasmus program and welcomes us.
In the afternoon we visit the salt museum, this is because the town has large areas of salt mines, hence the importance of salt.
Finally we went to the restaurant of one of the Erasmus members, Luitgi, here we dined all the members of the Erasmus program together.

Friday:
Fifth day, Mesolongi/Athens.
In the morning we go to the school where we do an activity based on the Alexa device and a kahoot about computer science. After finishing the activities there is a farewell ceremony in which we receive a diploma and we say goodbye to our Greek colleagues.
After this we take a bus which after a few hours of travel leaves us at the station of Athens. From here we first go to the hotel to leave the luggage and then we take a short walk around the city.

Saturday:
Sixth day, historical Athens.
On this day we visited most of the historical monuments of Athens such as the Parthenon and the Acropolis in general, we also went to the parliament where we saw the changing of the guardhouses and to a mountain from which we could see the entire Acropolis perfectly, here we met a group of Greek choirs which gave us a good atmosphere in addition to the spectacular views. Near this mountain was the prison of Socrates therefore we also went to visit it.

Sunday:
Last day, farewell to Athens and return trip.
In the morning we take what will be the last walk of this trip through the streets of Athens in order to buy gifts and souvenirs.
After this we go to the airport with the metro and take the first flight from Athens to Madrid, upon arrival we realized that our flight to Asturias had been delayed 1 hour so we had to make time at the airport.

As a final conclusion I would say that it has been an unforgettable experience and I would like to return in the future to see my foreign colleagues of the program with whom I hope to continue to maintain a friendly relationship.
