I started tidying up buffet section like picking up buffet utensils and wiping around. The buffet utensil also sent to the kitchen to be washed. Continue set up buffet utensil for lunch hour UMW Company which has created an event at Scapes Hotel.

After all the work was completed, Mr. Idham told me and a friend to go up to Dewan Meranti to make the final preparations for the Bank Rakyat Event such as arranging glasses, wiping bowls, taking trays, opening napkins on the table and so on.

We went to the Scapes Hotel office and waited for some things to be ready such as signing the traineeship contract letter and making the card accessible to all levels of the hotel. After that, Ms. Sha (Assistant Housekeeping Manager) bring us to the room to pick up a T-shirt to wear that day. After change shirt, he bring us to all departments to introduce ourselves to all the staff of Scapes Hotel.

After that, we were bring by Mr. Casey to P1 for make a face scan. The function of face scan is to detect our attendance while enter and end work. When finished, we followed Mr. Karim (Assistant Manager Bar & Restaurant) to Lemon 3. He explain about the ways and the rules while working in F&B. While listening, as a first -time person working in the F&B, a lot of new things I learned were like

- How to set up cutlery on the table properly. (Tissue, spoon on the right, knife in the middle and fork on the left)

- How to use a coffee machine and make a coffee.

- Position salt and pepper and others.

Me, Aisyah and Nadia were bring by Akmal, the F&B supervisor of the banquet section to Meranti 1 to set up the hall for the Bank Rakyat Event. We helped Akmal arrange tables, chairs, put on chair covers, set up tables (tissues, spoons, knives and forks), and learned how to make shapes using napkins to place on the table.

Greeting guests come for Sahur. Sahur for today is only 6pax while, breakfast is 42pax. In addition, check the coffee machine that had a bit of a problem and add the coffee powder and nescafe that were already depleted. Then, pick up dirty plate, cups and cutlery and bring them to kitchen for washing.

Go back to Lemon 3 again and the chef told me to send the food to the quarantine people. Once done, I went to the kitchen to pick up the plates, cups and cutlery that were ready to be washed and wiped them.

In addition, I also put tongs in the salad, fruit, and pastry sections. In addition, put a spoon on the side of gravy things such as sauces and utensils for porridge. After finished that work, I waited for the guests to come for sahur. Sahur guests for today are 4pax only.

Trolleys already filled with dirty dishes and cutlery were sent to the kitchen for washing. The matter was repeated until the end of breakfast time at 10.30am. But, on this day, breakfast closes a little late because of the many guests.

After that, Mr. Idham give me the keys and told me to check the coffee machine. There is Nescafé powder and Black Tea has been reduced so, I took a new pack and added it again for 72pax use while iftar start.

While all section of buffet already with food, I began to assist in set up utensil, plate and bowl. At the same time, I also put a spoon in each side dish for the convenience of the guests. Lastly, we make sure that all the buffet sections are set up properly before we go for Iftar at cafe.

I helped kitchen worker by lifting food such as ulam-ulaman, kerabu, dessert and others. When all the menus were ready to be served, we all made a final setup such as placing a spoon on each meal, a ladle for the gravy and a tongs for the related. Once everything was ready, we waited for the guests to come for iftar. Most of them started coming to Lemon 3 at 6pm and started taking the food at 6.30pm.
