Head: It’s what allows students to understand subjects, solve problems, and make informed decisions.

heart: It encourages kindness, motivation to learn, and emotional well-being in the classroom.

Together: A great education needs both. Teaching that speaks to the mind builds knowledge, while teaching that touches the heart shapes character and values.

I believe the importance of heart and head in education is to work together as one in balance. Your class needs passion to be engaging, because emotion plays an immense work on long term memory/knowledge acquisition. Your class needs planning, it needs a routine, a moment so students can understand what is going on ut at the same time, know they are absolutely welcome to be active and proactive in their classroom.

Heart and head are important because we need to be empathetic but also racional, use the heart to look at our students with more care and the head to find the best way to use the feelings they have as a tool to development.

Both are extremely important because of their meanings. You need to have a head to make the biochemical connections when learning something new, but nothing really matters if you don’t put your heart into it — that’s the only way to truly make a difference in your students’ lives. If you try to remember your favorite subject from school, I bet what comes to mind are the positive experiences you had during that time — maybe even more than the theoretical content itself.
