This book talks about how the foods you eat affect you chances for diseases. Dr. Greger focuses on how meat-based diets have an increased risk for developing diseases like cancer, heart disease and even mental afflictions. He states in several accounts that plant based foods are better for you. He backs all of this up with evidence, and a lot of it. He talks about why this knowledge is not well known. He talks about several problems with several food industries that cause these diseases, such as how cows are forced into cannibalism. This book makes you want to be a vegan, and it's not even talking about the actual processes in the food industry. This book is great. I would indeed recommend it to another person. This book is full of haunting info. It really opens your eyes to what's going on in your body and the world. I don't want to eat meat after this, but sadly don't have much control over what I eat with family. This should be something more people read.

This book tells the reader how they can take charge of their own destiny by rejecting the view that their life is set in stone based on their genes. Dr. Lipton gives example are example of how your environment and how you react with it shapes you as a person, and how genes are just a starting pointing. Dr. Lipton wants the read to understand how much of an influence you have on not only yourself by placing yourself in the right environment but also those around you. One example of how the environment has molded the life of an individual is Tiger Woods, who´s father would send to golf practice and camps constantly, shaping his career. I would recommend this book to anyone who feels as though they are confined to the genetic hand they have been dealt, Dr. Lipton truly expresses how life is in your own hands even to the microscopic level, explaining how even the nucleolus of a cell, which holds all of its genetic information is not the one interacting with and being molded by the environment but rather the cell´s membrane which is constantly exposed to it.

This is a weird book, not saying it's bad or good. It includes several topics that includes current research and anecdotal experiences to make it more relatable . The author also makes sure to explain anything he talks that may be remotely confusing until it becomes easy to understand and read. He does this by comparing the topic to something else that has been heard before. Research is also backed up by citations and you may find his own research in the text. You can also tell the author really cared about the topic he is covering through the introduction and life he had. The flow of the book is good. It doesn't seem to leave a lot of times of how I got here, because he interconnect what he talks about. In my opinion, I think this is a book worth reading. This is a book that challenges your beliefs and that can be great even if your beliefs aren't changed, because you still experienced the argument. This book explains the other side of the argument with actual research. It can help you see what you never thought was there. This book covers topic such as cell, biology, medicine, etc.

This book is very informative however if you are not very interested in science this may be a hard read. There are very interesting things in this book but you have to search through all the difficult science talk in some points. At some points you will sit there and ask "who is he to make such claims" however I can assure you he is backed up by evidence and he is well qualified. I would recommend this book to someone who is like me and not very big on scientific journals and discoveries however I would recommend you start as early as possible. If you are interested in finding ways to change your eating habits this book is for you !

This book is a comprehensive analysis on the diets of modern humans and how it truly effects your health. Although we have been told for years that things like meat, milk, and poultry are healthy, it is exactly the opposite. The book repeatedly showed how meat and dairy does affect you negatively, and even how plants can reverse that. This is amazing because I previously thought meat was good for you.

This book is concise and interesting. It discuss the the smart cells and why and how they can teach us so much about our own minds and bodies. It talked about how the environment influences the behavior of cells without changing the genetic code. It also talked about the conscious parenting. Parents need to understand the role they play in programming their children's lives. This also analyze and states the main points that form the ideas of biology.
