The day consisted of putting together the most of my mood board, writing out my ideas to go with the pictures that I wanted to include within the page. It was smooth sailing for a while as I had a couple of ideas before settling on the one that I would like to do. Three or so of the axed ideas included: a Keith Richards biopic, Bob Dylan biopic and a Syd Barrett biopic. Doctor Who was the one who won, since they it was the idea that would interest the target audience more than anyone else. I'm not saying that other people that are within the target audience do not like Keith Richards, Bob Dylan or Syd Barrett however you couldn't say that it is a common thing.

With the mood board finished, including some research into Doctor Who, mainly coming from my own knowledge that has been built up over the years. It's a mood board, annotated and had thought properly put into; at least that's what I believe. Finishing the mood board finally was what I did best as it took a while to do and never seemed to be good to be finished, however the sheer amount of time I took to did was a bit of a downfall; then again, I'd have to say that good work takes time.

Having finished my mood board, I spent this day starting and nearly finishing my project proposal. I went through my skills throughout other units, my idea and how I think that I will evaluate my project before and after it is finished. Lastly, I put together a rough production plan for when I want to do the filming and editing. When I started the proposal I thought that it would be like the others and be extremely long even though I had barely started the Unit yet, however, curiously enough, it was a rather short proposal with only three sections.

The thing that went well today was the fact that the mood board was finally done and I was already working on my project proposal and that it didn't really take that along to nearly finish to a standard that my teacher was happy with. However, on the other hand it was somewhat confusing to go through and I had to ask a lot of questions to fully understand what I was writing so I could make sure that I had gotten everything right.

My day has consisted of finishing my project proposal, that being the production schedule and editing what I had already written. The majority of my dad consisted of thinking through my idea and putting together what my pitch will consist of. Going through what I needed to include, such as: my crew, equipment, the purpose of it, my idea, props and locations. I wanted to use props, which will be one of the two sonic screwdrivers I own and a perhaps the 'Patrol Dalek'. I wanted to make my project interactive and interesting to my target audience which are around my age.

What I felt went well today was the fact that I finished what I want to put in my pitch and feel rather confident about it instead of feeling worried. However, I do hope that what I have done is enough. I haven't done a powerpoint because it isn't really my style and would rather work off some small notes and then I can talk about my project naturally.

For the day I have finally completed and done my pitch. Considering me and presenting things, it went rather well. I talked my teacher through it and used pictures to make the pitch more interesting. A lot of people that I knew had presentations, however as that isn't my style, I wrote down notes and used pictures. That was the majority of the day and is also what went well. However, what didn't go so well was after doing the pitch, I was having a look at the documents that I had to do and didn't even know where to start. That pretty much sums up my entire day, having the pitch out of the way makes my work much easier.

On the other hand, myself and Chloe have decided to put our two ideas together and make one Doctor Who trailer. People have reacted positively to this and we personally think it is a rather excellent and interesting idea to explore
Personally, I thought my individual idea was boring anyway and Chloe thought hers would possibly be far to complicated to complete within the 10 Weeks. I feel rather relieved to be doing this with someone because I think I'd tear my hair out doing it all on my own. We agreed to work together after discussing our ideas and doing our pitches, they must seemed to fit quite neatly in with each other because of the fact they both has a Sci-Fi theme.

Thursday was the day that myself and Chloe concentrated on starting and finishing our primary research , which we did. We sent out our questionnaire, which I had put together the night before, and got the majority of our answers in one day. By the end of the day we had also put together and conducted our focus group, during that the two of us were able to go through gaps in the market and questions with our target audience. The last thing that I completed was do some quick Vox Pops with three people, the question that we asked were 'Who is your favourite Doctor and why?'

Personally, I think that the Vox Pops went well for me as I was able to force myself to walk up to three people and get their opinions. However, what didn't go so well was the fact that the focus group, in the start, wasn't going so well and we were not getting the complete answers that we wanted. It all sorted itself out in the end.

For the day I have completed the majority of my research documents, this includes; finishing off my target audience and target market documents and beginning to work on the last document. What I will have to do next is to start on the pre-production documents, hopefully all this will not be too overwhelming as that is the last thing that I wanted (Thats where I start getting stressed and rash).

Personally, what I think went well today was the fact that I got a large chunk of work done, helped my director with getting her work done and I also know exactly what I'm doing when I get home. However, some of the documents can be quite overwhelming and confusing when you first open them. They do not exactly explain what you have to do, and because I want my project to do well, I am determined to get all my documents done right and sometimes that can be rather hard. Other than that, the day has been productive and I am proud of the work that I have completed.

During the day myself and Chloe have started on our script for the trailer, getting our main ideas together and beginning to piece everything together. Along with that, we have also do some individual primary research. Personally, I done another survey that was specifically about trailers, including asking questions about whether people like the Doctor Who trailers. In the morning, we took a big step by venturing down to the performing arts department in search of our two main actors. Lucky for us, we were extremely successful in finding out female Doctor, based of the 10th, and make companion, based off Rose Tyler.

What I think went well today was that I was able to complete another part of my research and as well start on a major part of our trailer. Script writing is a serious thing and we are planning to finish it by Monday 23Rd. Both myself and Chloe want it to be to a good standard, sound like a trailer and be interesting to the target audience.

Targets:
-Finish Research.
-Continue pre-production documentation.
-Finish Script.

It may not seem like much, but what I done for the day was our script. I understand that it is only one thing, however myself and Chloe put a massive amount of thought into it. We sorted out the plot and what the characters do and say. You could say we did do another thing today, that being collecting more people to be possible extras and writing down their contact details. I would say that this has been a good day because what I wanted to do today was finish the script and, together with Chloe, I did. We are taking a lot of pride in our work and doing it to a good standard. On the other hand, what didn't go so well today was simply thinking about all the work that we must complete by the 17thand of course the lack of replies from our actors. It's increasingly hard to pull this together when you can't be discussing it with the people that are supposed to be acting in the project. We need to be able to plan our filming on days that our actors will be able to be there. It is a lot to do and, although, myself and Chloe are working our fingers to the bone, we still have this horrible feeling that we either won't get everything done in time or the finished project won't be very good. I hope it goes well, I suppose time can only tell.

It's taken a while because of having to fetch screenshots and links, whilst thinking about how I want to do the written part. It's been extremely in depth, thinking through everything that could be a key finding in the various parts of research that has been conducted. Getting the majority of this document done was what has gone rather well today, however the fact that I still have the written part of the secondary research to do and then the summary of the summary, it appears that I still have a ways to go. One of my targets, as evident above, shows that I wanted to get my diary log done today and low and behold, here it is in all its glory.

Today has been an eventful day, we have lost an actor and gained another one, got loads of extras, given out roles and done a major amount of documentation before we start filming. We have spent most of the day trying to get hold of Dave to book equipment, however because of all the other people finishing off their work, have not been able to get hold of him. Still, I would say it has been a VERY productive day for The Fab Two.

What has gone well is the fact we done our meeting in the morning to decide exactly what we wanted to do today and the fact that a bunch of our documents have been completed including the location release form (AKA, the form that gives me the blame if I ruin anything). On the other hand, what has not gone so well is the fact that our search for Dave has been fruitless and we have yet to be able to book out our equipment for our filming day on the 2nd June. Fingers crossed that this goes well, myself and Chloe are trying extremely hard and are defiantly feeling the pressure and stress with our oncoming due date of 17th June. I still do not know whether this will be done in time, I hope it will, I am still a very doubtful person.

Tuesday was quite a busy day for myself and Chloe, it was extremely productive to the point where my tutor is telling me to go home when I was willing to stay. We ended up leaving around 4, having had a meeting with only one of our actors (The others dropped out, however, up to now we have confirmed our companion and doctor). We had a meeting in the morning with our confirmed companion, Rizwan, and also was able to confirm a Doctor with Devon as she thankfully agreed to do it. What we discussed with them was the script, the dates and how it was all going to go down. It looks like everything seems to be going well so far.

Personally, I have got the signature from Dave to book out the equipment for Thursday, started and mostly finished the budget, the production schedule is out of the way, as Chloe did that, and got some signatures for our consent form. On a couple of our extras, we are still waiting to get their signatures and to delegate them roles. As an update, because of a horrific incident with the printer and attempting to scan our storyboard and various other things, I ended up taking some of the documents home and have successfully managed to get them scanned; therefore, they will be uploaded to my pre-production Padlet page soon.

Today was our first filming day, frankly, it was hellish, however we still got the shots of our extras. Everything has been saved onto my account and also my USB just in case. Overall, the day was like having a trip to hell. First off, I got kicked off my Mac way before I normally do. I'm never happy working in the open plan on a Thursday because come 1:15, I'm kicked off the computers and banished to the Motion Room. I understand that other people have work to do, but everyone needs access to a computer at all times. The IPads are all well and good, they really are, but sometimes it is extremely frustrating to be stuck working on them when the work you need to desperately get to is locked away on a Mac. Myself and Chloe went to sit in a pod, brood, find some work that we could do there and await lunch. The first hour consisted of a lot of moaning and stressing out. Extras were suddenly dropping out, we still didn't know if we would get this all done in time, it was chaos for the mind. After lunch, we went to collect the equipment and found that someone had the Tascam and thus we could not use the dead cat microphone. The people were supposed to be 15 minutes at most and we'd have that important piece of equipment, we never got it. We wasted our actors time basically. However, myself and Chloe knew that we had to get something done today, so we ran about to get some shots of our various extras. It didn't get any better, shots got mixed up and with the lack of extras, it was a bad situation. We tried, though.

Personally, I think the best thing that happened on this day was the fact that a unplanned shot was the most successful thing that happened to us. What we did was film the people in Marketing. It was the best idea ever, really. They agreed to do it and we got two brilliant shots of them working away and then the symbol that was created on the Mac. Maybe it's just me being oddly in love with them two shots though, or I'm being bias. Either way, to me, it's great. The consent form was signed and we were away. Even looking back on them scenes on the Mac they still look good to me. It was the most pleasing part of my day.

As stated earlier, it has been a hellish day and so much has not gone so good. Extras dropping out, on the day we were filming must I say. All we needed was 5 seconds of footage of them and they just have to be finicky about it. You can't do much though, no throwing tantrums, just silent contempt for a short time towards the people. Losing the Tascam was an extremely bad thing because it brought what we had originally wanted to do to a halt. I hate wasting people's time and, sadly, that's what happened today. We don't even know if one of our main actors will be willing to do it again.

Thus far, this project has been the worse thing that I have ever been involved it. Human's are terrible, finicky creatures who think it is fine to drop out at the last minute and crush all the work and hope that other people have. You may help them with things, drop what your doing because of it. But, oh no, they couldn't possibly help you for a minute.

Yet another horrific day, however this time there were some more positive points to it. First off, we managed to film once again. I took up the job of the companion so we didn't have to pull someone else out to do it. As normal, most of it went wrong, despite the fact that we get the Tascam on time for once. On the other hand, some of the audio didn't record and up to now we haven't get any of the filming that we have done. Myself and Chloe once again stayed late, but didn't get very far because of various problems with audio and the amount of times we had to redo different shots.

The deadline is next week and I'm 99% sure that we will not get this done and will fail. Being optimistic is impossible right now and I might as well give my card in and completely drop out of college. In short, everything, and I mean everything, is going horrifically and nothing seems to want to go right for us.

What did went well is the fact that we managed to film again and did actually get some good shots, however about an hour and a half in found out that the Tascam wasn't being used right and therefore we have lost our audio. Other than that, the rest of the day has been the same. That being a bad day. I'm at the point now where I consider not even coming into college because what is the point when my work is going absolutely no where and I am bound to fail.

Despite the fact that we wanted and, really, needed to film today, it didn't happen. Our first job was to get the footage from Thursday off camera 9, however when we went to get the camera it had already booked out. In fact, we couldn't get a camera at all, there was no cameras there.

Frankly, this is getting ridiculous now. Myself and Chloe aren't getting anywhere really and it's just over a week to go until EVERYTHING has to be in. Yet, we haven't even finished getting even the skeleton of our project, let alone getting around to editing it, putting together a focus group and writing an evaluation. Everyone keeps saying that we will be able to do, but do I believe them? No. I can't speak for Chloe as to whether she feels like we're going this done or not, either way, it's taking a toll on the both of us. These diary logs have become the proof of my slow descent into only pessimistic thoughts about this whole endeavor. If I could go back in time and not decide to do this project at all, they would be absolutely great. However, myself and Chloe are firmly stuck in this nightmare until the 17th June.

I don't have much to say about what went well today. I wrote another diary log, detailing how I hate this project, got some pictures of the places we filmed that Chloe needed, looked through this Padlet and the Pre-production Padlet to check that I had most things. I suppose you could say a good thing that happened today was that we retrieved our footage. There wasn't any point in getting the audio because of all that happened on Thursday. It still took us all day to get. We may be blamed for not getting it on Thursday, however you've got to go home at some point, right? It was already half 5 by then anyway. The only thought that is keeping me going is seeing the open plan and building K for the last time until September rolls around. Then again, I don't want the 17th to come because that means we're out of time and there's nothing to do about it. I didn't get kicked off my Mac today which I guess is a plus.

On the other hand, the list of bad things that happen eclipses anything good. Not being able to retrieve our footage from Thursday was a rather worrying inconvenience and not being able to film over all because of the lack of cameras was the icing on top of this nightmare cake. I'm surprised I even care anymore. The amount of words any tutor can say will give us enough time to get this all done and to a good standard. Personally, I'd come in on days I was off however we need our actor to do that to. I've already taken up the role of the companion, therefore, I have to be there no matter what. However, our doctor isn't exactly a person who wants to stay late or come in on Wednesdays and Fridays. Bless her heart that she even decided to save us in the first place when our other two doctors dropped out.

As the 17th June speedily approaches, the more dreadful myself and Chloe's days get. Although there are at least four teachers that we have gone to for help, nothing has happened. All we get told is that this will all come together and everything will work out. Is anything working out? NO, no it isn't. Am I being pessimistic? Probably, however for good reason for once. Our deadline, which has now been changed to the 16th of June is now a week away and we haven't even finished filming yet. Personally, I think that Chloe and me have, frankly, the right to be freaking out and getting rash, no one has come even close to helping us. It is frustrating to know that I can barely use the editing software, which has only been on one computer out of the many we have tried over the time. We were told on Thursday that to get hold of that computer, we would have to get there extremely earlier. However, I bet that if we do get the computer, we will be kicked off it like we are on Thursday at our own spot after lunch. There will be a 'told you so' moment and I can feel it.

Anyway, addressing aside, did anything actually go right today? Well, we did film. It was stressful as always, we actually ended up getting kicked out of the open plan. A couple of shots down, still some to go. We did actually retrieve some copyright free music once we'd been kicked out of the open plan the first time because there were no seats and also a static screen. I guess there were some small ups to our day. It installs that more hope in me that some things are finally being accomplished, thus, I guess there is a silver lining to all storm clouds.

We all know the paragraph about everything that went wrong is going to be long, so here it goes. First off, we didn't get a lot of filming done and ended up getting kicked out of the open plan. Our ongoing search for a Mac that actually has editing software continued, and although we did find one, it was confusing and seemed as though that it was from the earlier 2000's. That's never good when it comes to us, we are really clueless babies when it comes to editing. We may have done two units that involved filming, however, our friend was always the one to edit whilst we did other things and she is currently dealing with a large amount of stress. Therefore, we wouldn't want to bother her right now.

To summarize, the day was less pleasant than I hoped for, we finally found a Mac with editing software although it's bad, we filmed a bit but got kicked out of the open pal at half 5. As a side note, when it comes to reading my final evaluation, the pessimistic theme does not end.

As per usual today has been hard for myself and Chloe, however we lost about an hour because Chloe had to film CAST. We began to film after lunch, around half four and found that our original actress had to leave at 5. Thus, I personally stood in for some of the end shots as we needed to get it done quickly to finally begin to edit the project. It was slightly annoying to have our last actor leave, but we got around the problem as quick as we could.

In the start of the day, Chris had helped us an immense amount by showing us another piece of software to edit in and then telling us about Adobe Encoder where our shots could be converted and then we could finally upload them and start editing. Thankfully, this was our last day of filming and it's roll onto to Tuesday to begin the daunting task of editing and then finishing the trailer all together.

What I think went well today is the fact we finished filming, although I did have to stand in for some shots. We had to find a way around the problem anyway and this was our solution. On the other hand, what did not go so well was the fact that we were filming on the deadline week, which is extremely worrying for us. I hope we can get everything done in time.

This was our main day of editing, which is actually where a lot more hope was installed in our project when it FINALLY began to come together. We spent basically the entire day editing what we had filmed together and could have nearly finished it completely. However, right out the end before we got kicked out we had a small bit left to do. This is what we aim to do when we come in on Wednesday.

During the editing process, I was continuing with the rushes log whilst also helping Chloe and discussing how long each shot would go on for. These were mainly the shots of the extras, as you wouldn't want everything too dragged out it is a trailer afterall. What went well today was the fact that we finally got to edit and as we did the entire peice seemed to somewhat come together. Despite the immense amount of set backs we have encountered over our time doing this project, Chloe and I have been able to somewhat save it. Now, I'm not saying that it's actually any good, but it's much better than what it could have been.

However, on the downside as we still haven't finished the actual editing and have loads of things to do, the pressure upon our shoulders is still very big. I just hope we can pull this all together in time for Thursday.

Despite the fact the Journalism class isn't required to physically be in college on this day, due to the still cloudy but clearing thought that I and Chloe would not get everything done in time, we have decided to come in. We would have had today off to work everything and come in on the Friday instead, however our deadline got changed to the 16th; thus cutting off the ability to have a day away from college during this week. It wasn't as if coming in on this particular day was a struggle, we knew what we wanted to do after. However, I had that horrible feeling that we could possibly not get a Mac due to the fact we couldn't move for editing. Luckily enough, we did get our Mac back and were able to edit the last little bit we needed to and then export it, for it then to be uploaded onto Youtube and from there it will go on our Padlets tomorrow as the last thing to be uploaded.

Regarding what I would say went well today, that would have to be finishing our editing without a lot of issues; normally we encounter loads after all. And also, that we got the focus group out of the way. On this Wednesday I feel like Chloe and I have gotten to rather big parts of what we had left out the way, it's all about getting everything else wrapped and then we're hopefully done.

On the other hand, what I would have to say that didn't go so well today is the fact that I have yet to get the rushes log done, I need to get it done before the end of Thursday and that is my job only. Hopefully, we'll get the presentation done and over with

As this is our last day of our final major project, it has been rush and panic to get everything done. I have written the rest of my evaluation, finished the rushes log, checked everything was on both my padlets, looked through the guidelines and checked if they were done right and, mostly, panicked a bit. I am pretty sure that I have everything done and uploaded, if not then I'll fail.

Anyway, I am going to be pleased to see the gates of this college for the last time in a while, and then come back in September with fresh eyes and feeling much more confident in myself. All in all, I will never, ever, try to make a Doctor Who trailer again in my life.

-Log Closed-
