"As with most things that concern Calypso, there’s some disagreement as to how long Odysseus was there. What is known, though, is that Calypso wanted to keep him for her husband." (Greek Gods & Goddesses)
She fell in love with Odysseus and used her powers to keep him under her spell. Eventually, Athena came to intervene and ordered Calypso to free Odysseus.  She is known for her hospitality as she uses her charms to spell men and have them stay with her. Calypso tends to fall in love with the men she imprisons and stays loyal to them, despite their love not being real. However, if her lovers are being taken from her or have hurt her, she will make sure she achieves vengeance.

She is the daughter of the Atlas, the brother of Prometheus. He is a titan who participated in The Titan War, on the titan's side. Calypso was supporting her father in the war but the Olympian god's side war was victories. The two of them were punished in different ways. Atlas's punishment was to uphold the heavens and the sky. On the other hand, Calypso was banned and ended up stuck on an island called Ogygia. She was a minor goddess with divine beauty. She was also able to give others immortality.
