Yes, it is very possible. If a relationship starts off as just passionate, depending on how much each partner likes one another, intimacy can easily develop. However, I think commitment has to do more with the individuals and what they specifically want, though that can change, it is more unlikely than intimacy or passion. Similarly, all three aspects of the triangle can be lost or fizzle out.

It is possible for the type of love to evolve through out the relationship due to ever changing circumstances and dynamics. One can fall in or out of love based on personal reasons. However, love could intensify as the relationship progresses. As one learns more about their partner, an aspect of conscious commitment could arise that was not present before.

There is not a lot of passion and intimacy in the relationship because Matia kept bossing Cassandra around and wasn't very respectful towards her. As for commitment, either than the fact that hey were married, there was not a whole lot of commitment.

I think love can evolve throughout a relationship. You don't stop evolving as a person as soon as you get into a relationship, you evolve together and start to experience new things. I also think that love grows the longer you expose yourself to it. For example. arranged marriages. The bride and groom aren't expected to love each other from the start, they're expected to grow into that love and evolve.

Wil - Case study #1: Mason and Tristen show intimacy and passion when Mason breaks up with his current girlfriend to be with Tristen. Then they go on all these romantic adventures while their love is growing stronger for one another. Passion is shown when Tristen was upset that Mason was talking to his ex girlfriend so he said he would stop and cut her off.

Intimacy- Intimacy was shown when they were going through rough times in their relationship. This is an example of intimacy because they were sharing their concerns and helping each other achieve their needs.
Passion- Tristen and Mason show passion when they first start dating. They go on romantic dates, adventurous outings, and travel together. Their attraction towards each other grew. This is passion because they are very drawn together and show a lot of attachment.
Commitment- Commitment was shown when Mason was talking to his ex-girlfriend but stopped when Tristen asked him to. This is commitment because Mason changed his relationship with a person who Tristen did not approve of.

Matia and Cassandra have been together for 15 years they also have the responsibility of 3 children. Although, Matia was put on disability which eventually made Cassandra have the power of the house since she was the one who was bringing in the money for a year. For their entire relationship Cassandra’s friends saw Matia as a bad person and he was mentally toxic for their relationship because he wouldn’t allow her to buy things for her career or even dessert at dinner etc. He was also seen as a cheater for his constant hang outs with another women and would buy her expensive gifts. Overall the type of love that the two share is Empty Love because although they do have a commitment to children and financial issues together there is no love presented with one another.

Passion and intimacy can grow and go a long way. It isn't just there when you start the relationship, it can be there forever.

I think that in the beginning of their relationship Mason and Tristan are infatuated with each other. In the first year of their relationship they are impulsive and magnetized to each other. As the relationship goes on their relationship loses the passion and becomes more of a compassionate love. They go through a lot together and their connection grows a lot deeper, but they lose the passion in the relationship. The relationship soon loses intimacy and becomes solely empty love. They stay together out of convenience and and not out of fulfillment and satisfaction.

The type of theories that we can apply to the case study is Attachement theory - love triangle= commitment. The couple has committment since they ve been together for 15 years, and have three children together. They one type from the three of the triangle theory, but lack the passion, and intimacy side of the triangle.
