Aerodynamics is a key factor for maximum speed in a CO2 car.  Aerodynamics means the forces and airflow involved in the movement of an object through the air.   Putting aerodynamics into this design would look something like the above model.
A curved top and thinner middle section will prove to avoid drag (which is the effect of using a normal block shape)
