Q1: What ideas do you have for the youth to "own their faith" with deeper understanding of God's words?

Owning faith is not a conscious decision due to external pressures but by one’s own volition. Faith should not be going with the flow and having borrowed faith but rather due to one’s personal connection with God. Ownership of faith is when you consciously deepen your relationship with God, for instance by deepening our faith through activities like reading the Bible outside of church-related activities. It should stem from the desire to seek God and your hunger to grow the relationship with him. Therefore, one with ownership of one’s faith would seek answers for any doubts one has and go out of one’s way to deepen the ownership of one’s faith.

On the other hand, some people may entirely refuse to own their faith and therefore it may be difficult to envision solutions to improve their ownership of their faith. However, here we will assume that we would not do so, and instead want ideas for taking our ownership of faith to the next level, via helping one another. Moving on to ideas, we could share news articles, personal testimonials, our struggles and such resources that God is alive and working in the world and how He is working in other people’s lives, such that He can speak to everyone and help everyone to grow in their faith. A prayer partner system where people meet together to hold each other once every few days to pray together could aid in them holding each other accountable and would help each other to own their faith. We could also stay back longer after church to reflect and think about what we said before as well as being active in serving, to consolidate our learning as well as to ensure we don’t purely go through the motions but rather commit what we learnt to memory. Going on mission trips will also expose you to people who are owning their faith which can help one to own their own faith. We can also try to make going to church and other spiritual practices routine. As we are creatures of habit, this will make owning our faith significantly easier. This can come in the form of things as simple as praying at certain or random times throughout the day, and studying the Word of God at certain times when one is free. Reading the Word should also not be rote memorisation like that done in Sunbeam but we should reflect and try to truly understand it. Only once we experience it as a reality, we will own our faith and be able to respond accordingly. Keeping a prayer journal will therefore help to keep track of whatever comes to mind and could help one to remember one’s prayers and see how God talks to them. It can also serve as a reminder as to how much one has grown throughout the journaling period. Note that this should be done in a feasible manner, however, to prevent the inertia of journaling for a long period of time deterring one from beginning.

We could share our prayer needs occasionally and forge a culture where it is easy to share one’s thoughts and everyone is comfortable with each other so we can pray for each other. This can also just be for another one person.

• Talk about more personal topics so we can own our faith better

Being intentional in praying for one another, being aware of what’s going on in one another’s life

Keep CG bonding exclusively CG bonding. If we want to let others tag along we should discuss as a CG 

Question 3:

Make it more genuine and consistent, during bless instead of going out and finding multiple families we can instead find 2-3 families that we can walk in faith together with by regularly checking up with them following their progress. because many people have this impression of Christian’s, that they will only visit once and never come back. If we visit them consistently we will show our genuine care for them and want to walk with them, thus passing on gods love from us to them.

Befriending everybody while wary of how we are uniquely made - example to be mindful of different social batteries and not to overwhelm them.
