1. Digital Distribution

Most independent artists distribute music this way. Simply upload your song to a digital distributor, and they will send it to stores or streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, TikTok, and Instagram Reels (for short-form use). Popular distributors: DistroKid-Fast, easy to use, with a yearly fee and unlimited uploads. TuneCore Pay per release or per year, CD Baby - One-time fee per release and also collects publishing revenue. UnitedMasters - Free and paid tiers, good for placements. Amuse, Ditto, Level Music, ONErpm, etc. What they do: They handle uploading your tracks to stores. Royalty payments. Sometimes marketing, playlist pitching or sync licensing.

2. Physical Distribution:

If you’re releasing Vinyl, CDs, cassettes, you may distribute physically through: Merch tables or online stores (Bandcamp, Shopify, etc.) Distributors like The Orchard, INgrooves, or smaller indie record distributors generally require an established audience or a label connection.
