A combination of film and digital production and digital effects/editing allowed Spectre to be produced in its entirety in about a year. speeding up production and release prevents plot information becoming released to the public-a factor that was significant for spectre in the aftermath of the Sony hack (Sony owns one of Spectre's distribution companies, Columbia Pictures).

They merged with a wide range of social networking platforms alongside the film industry. They gained alot of attention through social media. They were also the first movie to use promotion through snapchat which was unique and exclusive to Spectre and this caught the attention of many users eyes and therefore is a good example of cross media convergence.

Honeytrap's trailers were featured on Vevo and YouTube. This meant it was widely available to be viewed by anyone, however Honeytrap didn't gain any popularity through the use of other marketing techniques. This meant that word about the film didn't get out.
Honeytrap also had to gain following by implying the whole plot through their extended trailers. This was done to give some back story to the plot and ensure that it would provide interest in following the characters through the film. Honeytrap relied on its story line to gain a following, however Spectre did not release any of the plot before the film came out, as it already had a huge following, and created more interest through the form of mystery.

The first pieces of advertisement for the film came with the release of one set stills that were released simultaneously across all of Spectre/Eon's social media accounts. in terms of the hyprodermic needly theory, impacting all platforms in such a sudden way meant the audience was unable to escape the film. Shortly after, the first poter was released showing the Spectre logo which immediately enticed traditional Bond fans who would be aware of what that symbol was and everything it meant. straight after the release of this poster 'is Christophe Waltz Hans Blofeld?' gossip began, a topic that was featured all over the internet and in newspapers until the films release- it cost MGM and Columbia nothing but the audience were could not avoid the gossip which grew as both stars and producers declined to comment.

The film has been crowd-funded online using the website indiegogo.com. This site is a basis for any innovative ideas to gain funding from the public from a small pitch of ideas. These ideas may include new technologies, film and music ideas as well as festival funding ideas. This is a good way for independent, niche films to gain funding due to the fact that those who are investing in the product are clearly intrigued by the ideas as well as it directly targeting a new innovative audience. Furthermore, the film has been marketed online using Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, which would have not been available a decade ago. Social networking sites have allowed a whole range of new audiences to be targeted and reached due to the availability of sharing amongst friends.

Soundtrack

In order for Honeytrap to gain a more authentic feel, Johnson decided to create a soundtrack for the film which was produced by independent Grime artist 'Skwillia'. In addition to Skwillia had Polydor signed artists such as Mc Killa P and Russo, who were both from Brixton. Hence, the soundtrack gave the feel a true sense of authenticity.
Whereas with Spectre, their single from their soundtrack, 'Writing's on the Wall' by Sam Smith was created to simply be a chart topper which help aide in the promoting of the film.
