A resident of Canton, Michigan, Dr. Jessie Kilgore directs Leadership Matters, which provides skills training for businesspeople and teachers. His other companies include EdConsult (an advisory firm) and #T.E.A.C.H. (alternative teacher certification). Dr. Kilgore earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He went on to earn a master’s of arts in teaching at Wayne State University. He also earned his PhD at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, specializing in K-12 administration. Sometime later, Dr. Kilgore became the executive director of the MSU Good Schools Resource Center. His work benefited public schools served by the Skillman Foundation, a private agency for Detroit elementary students. His portfolio included mathematics and literacy instruction, marketing, diversity, and budgeting. Dr. Kilgore is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the National Council of Teachers of English.
