I say this because in the story Federigo is rich at first but loses his wealth and becomes poor with the beautiful woman he fell in love with.

I finished reading the short story, truthfully I actually enjoyed the story very much. The short story sends a very positive message; to me the message is that although circumstances may seem tough a mother is willing to do anything for their kids.

The tone of the short story is somewhat ironic. Towards the end Federigo kills his loved falcon in order to impress Donna Giovanna when all along the only reason the fair lady went to Federigo was to ask for the bird.

The author style includes talking in 3rd person. Throughout the entire short story the author tells the story as if he were telling it in real life. I feel that he does this in order to create a clear understanding of the story.

Theme between both stories is guilt and remorse. After Macbeth kills Duncan, Macbeth states "Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood / Clean from my hand?" from act 2 scene 2 lines 58-59. After Federigo kills his falcon he claims, "but seeing now that you desired it in another way, my sorrow in not being able to serve you is so great that I shall never be able to console myself again." The way that both stories share the same theme of guilt and remorse is that both characters know that what they did was wrong. When reflecting on their actions they wish they could go back and do things right.

Federigo is most like Macbeth. In the story both characters do something that is wrong and believe that is right. For example, Macbeth believed that killing Banquo was the correct response to eliminating a threat when towards the end he was haunted by Banquo's ghost. Federigo in the other hand thought that killing the falcon would woo Madona Giovana when towards the end all she wanted was the bird.

Overall Federigo's falcon was a pretty good short story. What I enjoyed about the story was that it demonstrated that what you think is the correct or right option is could actually be the incorrect option. Throughout the story it also shows that what comes around goes around. For example the type of character that Federigo showed was so impactful that towards the end Madona Giovana wants to marry only him. It has a fair connection with Macbeth when it came to the theme which was very helpful. For example, Macbeth killed banquo and towards the end he wished he hadn't. On the other hand Federigo thought that in order to woo his lady he killed his loved falcon and later wished he hadn't because Madona Giovana wanted him in a different form. Ultimately, both characters showed remorse for taking the life of someone or thing they deeply cared for. I would reccomend this short story, it really does remind people that good morals and character can go a long way.
