What the American Dream Means to Me by LESA BAKER

The American dream in modern America I feel is taking the safe route. Finish high school, go to a good collage, then find a steady 9-5 job even though the American dream should be much more then that. It should be pursuing the ultimate dream of yours. Taking those risks of pursuing your dreams are always gonna be worth it. And if it doesn't work out, try again and keep going, no matter how long, how hard it'l be, pursue your ultimate passion. I think we've gotten too comfortable, we need the discomfort to build us as humans and to learn from.

I don't think it means much to me, personally. I think you don't need to work hard at all to get money as long as you are lucky. All you really need is to either be born in a wealthy family or do something on the internet. Sure you can work hard, but at the same time you can be successful so easily nowadays with the internet that it's not even worth trying anymore. Sure, before the internet, you needed to work hard to succeed. Now you can easily get money at your fingertips by just one click. It's possible, but it really doesn't mean much anymore.

To me the american dream is just an explanation of what everyone in america is expected and hope to have. I think the american dream is still possible but very difficult to attain now. The value of money has gone down and the need for jobs has also gone down. this makes gaining the funds you need to have the american dream difficult. In my opinion the american dream is financial security/stability, family, and a happy life, property. I think this is attainable just very difficult to acheive.

To me, "The American Dream" means to live life how you want to. My American Dream, so to speak, is going to school and working for the things I want. I want to have my dream job, find a spouse and children and do the things I want to do. I believe that everyone's American Dream is different. It's how people want to live their lives. It's how they set goals for themselves.

In my perspective the american dream is being able to be free from social pressures and live a full life with equal opportunities that the world provides for me. That means even if its through hard work as long as its equal i can enjoy the pleasures of having a home, a family and full stomach. Having the freedom to live a happy and full life seems to be a struggle for most now because of the unfair " freedoms" we have. Everything comes at a price and to be free from that would be a dream. The idea of waking up and being able to enjoy the pleasures of helping myself while also helping others would be amazing. There are many solution's and benefits to this.

The American Dream means having the freedom to work hard for a better life and define success for yourself. While once promising widespread opportunity, today, economic inequalities and rising costs make it much harder for many people to achieve. The dream is still possible for those with advantages, but it feels out of reach for a growing portion of the population, especially younger generations who face higher hurdles to stability and prosperity.

When it comes to the American Dream, I always think of freedom, rights, and great opportunities. In today's world, the American Dream can be very difficult to achieve. This is because of social problems, inequality towards minority groups, rising costs, and lack of access to education/healthcare. Tariffs and inflation have been affecting many people over the past year. This includes housing and certain foods such as eggs. Racism, sexism, and other hatred has a big effect on certain pay and jobs. Education and healthcare is also expensive, especially without insurance or support. Certain stereotypes can also effect minority groups in today's society.

In my opinion, I feel like the American Dream is most definitely possible, and more possible now than ever if we're talking about the true definition. To me, I feel like a true American Dream is freedom. Anyone and everyone should deserve absolute freedom no matter your race, sex, or beliefs. Everyone is human and everyone withholds their own mental and physical capabilities and everyone has their own flaws. Therefore, everyone should have their own chance at what they want to do or be, which is possible in the "American Dream". Therefore, I feel like the American Dream is more than possible, and even with new laws and help from the government, it will only be easier.

The American Dream is that everybody, no matter where they came from, has equal access to opportunities as long as they are willing to work hard for it. This American Dream to me is no matter where a person is from, or how different they are from 'the normal", if they are willing to work hard for the goals they have, they have as much chance at greatness than the "normal" people. In this society I believe this American Dream is still possible and able to reach. There is no such thing as normal especially in our generation today, in our world there are only people, people who make mistakes, people who take risks, and people who have dreams. So yes, I do believe PEOPLE are able to reach their goals and have this American Dream they just have to be able and willing to work hard for what they want. This is what the American Dream is to me and why I believe it is still possible.

The American Dream is any goal I have for myself at the end of my life. Anything Ive envisoned for myself. And its different for everyone, nobodies American Dream has to be similar at all, thats what dreams are all about, theyre very personal and sometimes only makes sense to yourself. Cause when you are able to chase that dream, it's all about you until you die. You get to choose how your life plays out, and the fact that so many people let money, responsibilities, and other people hold them back when they don't need to is bogus. Because the fact is, it's better to try and fail at your dream, then to be there at the end of your life, wondering if you couldve made it work. Some people have a checklist of stuff they need accomplish, a basic list would be to finish high school, get a job for college, graduate, find a 9 to 5, get married, have children, and retire. But then some folks get to have their checklist of wants, they go by one day at a time and soak in the warmth of their dreams and watch them come to fruition. The American Dream is always possible, it just depends upon which list you want to work on first.

The American Dream means working hard and being able to achieve your goals to live out the best possible life you want. I do think the American Dream is still possible you just have to have the work ethic to be able to achieve it. I think that when you try your best it can help you learn and do better in life. If you do not work hard it can be very hard to be able to make your dreams come true. I think working hard can make you have good habits because if you work hard in school and have good habits then you can get a better job which helps you get the money. I do think this is possible but I also think this may be hard for some people because some people don't always get the chances that other people get which can not be helpful to be able to achieve your goals.
