"While they squeal and screech and bump into each other, I silently sack up my dead and withdraw to the woods." & "I hear the people praying-whimpering,whining, mumbling, pleading-to their numerous sticks and stones." These quotes verify the feeling that that there is no hope, abandonment, and there is confusion present in each of these moments. This song plays on these features, and give a haunting play, and reality of each situation. This would be a good choice of song to help represent Grendel's moments. As the song is featuring desolation, and endless waves of what can be a never ending dream/nightmare, It seems this would fit Grendel's actions, and the deep twisted joy, and thrill that is experienced by him as he kills, and frightens his intended victims.

To me this picture represents Grendel. The reason I say that? It's because when you think of all the jealousy that Grendel feels constantly, and he never feels happiness, not pure anyways, it begins to make since. For instance in the story it mentions that Grendel, after a massive killing streak, would see the people come together and sing in joy and praise. to him this would bring confusion and anger. He is jealous because he cannot feel that which they are able to. Then to add salt to injury ( which was mentioned above), He cannot stand to see them happy. he felt better when he saw them experiencing pain or fear. To him this would make up for what he was missing out. so this picture is adequate, because it shows desolation, loss of hope, and inner fury, which in total is Grendel.

I'm going with a post from Jeremy Gonzalez, in 6th period. His poem that he worked with is Darkness. When i read the poem and then read Jeremy's post about darkness it brought back a connection i had in the past. I appreciated the positive affects that darkness has on us, also it discusses in his post that darkness is a reference to light and darkness. Let's use the image below, "just because darkness surrounds the tree below, it doesn'

t mean that the tree is dark too. Eventually, that tree will see the light.

In Beowulf, It talks of his heroic nature, and that he is helpful and protective of humans. History of Grendel in Relation to Beowulf: Traits that the humans, or past village that he tortured in his past, they've marked him with partial human qualities, but classed him as large and beast like. In one of his killing sprees (when he "politely knocking on the door") he proceeded to rip it of its hinges and brought the room into a uproar of fear. They (the scared people) ran in fear. But Then Beowulf is the hero, and is intended to be Beowulf nemesis (from context clues). Also, because these to are (in comparison) "light and dark," one is intended to kill the other, which would put the people in safety. Or, put the people in harms way, and a path of death.
