WBL is carried out under the supervision of the workplace practice supervisor and it has specific goals and tasks.
WBL part in the learning process could be different and it is connected with target group. It is different for part time student and full time student. It could be different for different level curriculas.

The student gets into contact with workplaces, sending them a CV and cover letter.

The workplace will ask the student to a job interview or a trial task, which is followed by confirming the placement.

The student provides the necessary data, needed for drawing up a WBL contract.

The school draws up a contract for 3 parties - the school, the student and the workplace.

Mandatory documents:

• Agreement on placement learning;
• Learning Unit/Practice instruction - it lists the volume of practice, study goals and tasks (learning outcomes) as well as evaluation criteria for the practice;
• Individual WBL schedule - the supervisor and the student put together a schedule (the tasks, the timing, the individual goals of the student);
• WBL booklet - a document which reflects the daily WBL activities of the student. At the end of the practice the workplace practice supervisor signs it;
• Assessment form - it is being filled in and signed by the student, together with the workplace supervisor;
• Report - it is being compiled in the course of the WBL in accordance with the practice guide. Before submitting it at school, it should be given for review to the workplace practice supervisor.

The student is expecting co-operation, goal-orientation, feedback and support.

You as the Workplace supervisor  could make for the student as your happy worker:

• The student gets acquainted with the workplace (including their primary work environment), colleagues, the rules of conduct and health and safety regulations of the workplace.
• The student finds out when, how and whom they can address with their question (also while their main supervisor is not present).
• The supervisor and the student discuss and put together the initial time-plan (the tasks, the timing, the individual goals of the student) for the workbased learning. 
• During workbased learning the student and the supervisor check the course of achieving the set goals.
• The school supervisor keeps in contact (visits, calls, e-mails, Skype calls) with the workplace supervisor in order to give explanations and advice as to the practice tasks and documentation.

At the end of the practice the supervisor gives written feedback to the student, concerning attaining the study outcomes.

Practice documentation of WBL, jointly with the supervisor, should be completed by the last day of the  workbased learning.

All the documents in their proper form should be handed in by an agreed deadline to the school  supervisor. The student takes part in the  seminar, giving a short overview of their  workbased learning.
