Adham Tayara - We should to provide small lunch to feed people People's Church and also some desserts, coffee, hot chocolate, tea. And also provide some volunteers working in the kitchen and cleaning the common after the people finish after the Sunday Service.

I would love a time (perhaps after the Sunday service) when church members could share information about hobbies or organizations they're involved with. It'd be a great way to learn about each other's passions, hear what's going on in the wider community, and it could help those local organizations get more members or ask for volunteers.

Group to read/perform their own poetry, plays aloud.

I would like to start a reading/performing group for poems, short stories and short plays written by the adults of People’s people. This group would meet for a few meetings in the fall and in winter to read aloud works the members create. There could be an eye to selection and development of some works, as appropriate, for sharing aloud during services and other church programs or functions.

I hope that we can create names for the rooms in the church rather than using just the number. It would be easier and fun. Everyone know the Buddha room.

Garden volunteer group?

Many other congregations in town, and other social service orgs, have gardens that they grow to feed the community and provide green space - they need additional volunteer help. I know many People’s People like to garden, and we don’t have good space on our lovely grounds for our own garden, so why not show up to support other gardens? Would anyone join me to work at the Growing Community Garden at Sunnyside Methodist on Gull Road, or the Ministry with Community garden? - Rachel Bair

Sunday Forum

I would like to see the return of the Sunday morning forum. For those who weren't here, for many years there was an informative speaker on topics as diverse as gender identity, acupuncture, affirmative action and Palestinian oppression. Speakers were not necessarily from the church, but knowledgeable about the subject. We met between 9:45 and 10:30 but the time is flexible. The forums were advertised and open to the public. I still remember what I learned from these forums.

Inspiring quotes

It would be nice to include some pertinent quotes in the Sunday program. The words could be related to the season &/or the the topic of the service. When we did this previously, I often found the quotes meaningful & inspiring.

I am interested in learning more about Transgender care and wonder if Peoples would host a panel discussion. Items to be discussed could include the medication, factors to consider like age, does care include mental health services, challenges for the individual and family and how are schools handling this.

Support group for CPTSD

CPTSD - Complex Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder is the result of a lack of secure attachment during the early years of life (approximately birth to 7) which might be the result of war, poverty, neglect, abuse, emotionally immature parents, etc. CPTSD can be a lifelong neurological condition, resulting in emotional dysregulation and disorganized executive function.

There is a growing awareness of CPTSD but a shortage of support groups. A CPTSD support group at Peoples Church would be a wonderful gift and service to the community.

Night Drivers

It would be helpful to many of us who no longer drive at night to have church volunteers who would drive us to/from evening activities such as KSO concerts, Civic plays, library programs. This could be an extension of the Arms Around group.

Is there any space in the church where people could bring books they've read and liked to share with others? "Bring a book, take a book"? Kind of like the little libraries we see in neighborhoods.
