Clarisse in the movie was a lot older in the movie than she was in the book. Clarisse also lives in the movie and Montag dies instead. Both in the movie and book Montag starts to question society, and he still gets that original idea from Clarisse. TO

I feel like Clarisse wasn't as curious about the world in the film. I believe that Montag's main reason for going against the firefighters in the film is due to his flashbacks, he wants to prevent people from experiencing what he had to go through as a child.

Beatty was still the same by having the knowledge of what was inside the books and memorized some of them. Film Montag is similar to book Montag because Montag stills goes against the firefighters and he ends up reading a books.

Two differences between the movie and the book is that Mildred and Faber are both completely removed from the film and Clarisse was entirely rewritten to be a stereotypical romance character in the film

Two similarities are that Montag mostly stays the same, realizing that something is wrong with what is happening in society and eventually starts to rebel. Beatty stays the same unreliable mentor character for Montag.

A difference between the film and the book is that the film was about an antagonizing tyrannical government that wanted to control the people with misinformation and history burning, while the book was about a society who doesn't care about anything except for satiating their dopamine and fun. Another difference is that the film has a more hopeful rebellion and is action based with a intense setting, while the book has a more depressing setting with not much hope for the future of society and the country.

Some similarities are that they banned and burned books out of the fear that they cause discourse/chaos. Another similarity is that Montag still collects a bunch of books/"graffiti" and hides it in a vent then eventually gets caught and betrays the firemen.

Unlike in the book Beatty and Montag are much closer in the movie, Montag is like a son to Beatty, Clarrise is much older and romantically interested in Montag as well as someone who gives info to the firefighters for freedom.

Similar to the book Montag has a change of heart and burns a firefighter and goes on the run, The old lady that burns herself is very similar to how she was in the book but with slightly different motivations.

The goals of the firefighters are mostly the same except with technology added in. Another similarity is that Montag has to burn down his house in both versions and goes through with it until Beatty threatens people he cares about.

I think they changed to many things from the book to the movie. there are a lot of scenes I would have liked to see in the book but not the move. For example the scene where the macanical hound was chasing Montag, or the scene with Mildread at the beginning where she OD and the doctors had to come and save her.
