We are focusing on writing the hook and thesis statement. Students recieve step by step, how to write the hook and thesis statement. I modeled each part. Students are provided with a step by step anchor chart, and received an hook and thesis chart to complete.

For the Do now= students are working on sound evidence. The first activity was related to facts and opinions and knowing how to differentiate between the two. Other students are working on analyzing evidence to determine the soundness.
