Gwyn & Zela

3) Emotions play a crucial role in decision-making related to mental health. Being aware of our feelings can help us recognize when we need support. However, strong emotions can also lead to impulsive decisions that may harm our well-being. Understanding our emotional responses into our mental health, helping us identify triggers and develop effective coping strategies. Additionally, emotions foster empathy, allowing us to connect with others facing similar challenges. In the end, being aware of our emotions helps us make better choices that improve our mental health.

4) From the article, the lack of mental health services for Indonesia’s Generation Z could have some long term effects on the country. Without support, mental health issues like anxiety and depression may increase, impacting young people’s education, work, and overall quality of life. This could lead to lower productivity and economic growth, as a mentally unhealthy workforce is less effective. Mental health struggles can also result in social problems like substance abuse and isolation, creating instability in communities. In the long term, untreated mental health issues could strain the healthcare system and increase costs. To avoid these consequences, Indonesia needs to invest in mental health services, raise awareness, and promote early intervention, ensuring a healthier and more productive future for both individuals and the nation.

Deiven, Revan and Eddie

2) Belief or disbelief in mental health care deeply impacts whether people seek help. When mental health issues are stigmatized or dismissed, as seen in Indonesia where some parents may deny their children's struggles, individuals often avoid seeking treatment due to fear of judgment or misunderstanding. Cultural and religious beliefs can also play a role, with some attributing mental health issues to personal weakness or supernatural causes, which further discourages professional help and encourages reliance on traditional or spiritual remedies instead. This can delay proper intervention and support.

Lillian and Sofia

1)Perceptions about mental health are greatly influenced by culture, which has an impact on how people identify and handle mental health problems. Cultural norms Indonesia frequently links mental health issues to spiritual imbalance or personal weakness, which might discourage people from seeking care, having the fear of being judged. On the other hand, the article's stress-reduction advice encourages a more tolerant towards environment, normalizing anxiety as a common feeling and promoting expert assistance when symptoms gets worse. This article illustrates the need for culturally specific mental health education to help promote help-seeking behavior.

5) The stress management technique that we find the most useful is trying a proven way to sleep better. Good sleep would result in good mood, and enough energy to go through the day. Quality sleep can also reduce anxiety, depression, and other mental health strains related to stress. Different cultures may view these strategies differently or may even find it unreliable due to the fact that different cultures mean different values. For example, some people may think sleep is a waste of time but some people would not do anything to disrupt their sleep schedule and hours.

Lak, Iva, Red

3) Emotions significantly influence our mental health decisions. They can motivate us to seek help or, conversely, lead to avoidance. Strong feelings can cloud judgment, making situations seem worse than they are. Understanding our emotions helps identify triggers, improve communication, and foster resilience. By being aware of our feelings, we can make more informed choices about our mental health and well-being.

4) The lack of mental health services for Indonesia's Generation Z could lead to significant challenges for the country's future, as untreated mental health issues may increase among youth, resulting in a rise in anxiety, depression, and related disorders. This situation could perpetuate stigma around mental health, discouraging open discussions and preventing individuals from seeking help. Economically, the impact could manifest as reduced productivity and increased healthcare costs due to the long-term consequences of untreated conditions. Socially, strained relationships and potential cycles of trauma may emerge, affecting the fabric of communities and families. Ultimately, addressing these mental health service gaps is crucial for fostering a healthier society and ensuring a resilient future for Indonesia.

Emotions affect our perspective of life and can help us understand mental health better because it is a key aspect in improving mental health.

5) From the second article the two most useful techniques for myself is probably to sleep better and to look for the brighter things in life. These ways of managing stress is really good because it can help me calm down and feel less tired. Different cultures may view these strategies differently cause maybe they may have different ways of thinking or maybe a different way of living as like in their culture.

Spending too much time on the internet and social media can expose us to topics that might be harmful to our mental health and can make us feel tired to see it. Therefore taking a quick break from it can truly refresh our mind and set clear goals for the day to be more productive. Doing a tech detox or break for a couple of hours can be the perfect spot to truly get those benefits to yourself.

Audrey J and Natasha

2) Belief or disbelief in mental health care strongly influences whether people seek help. In Indonesia, the stigma surrounding mental health often leads parents to deny or overlook their children's issues, delaying or preventing treatment. Many parents believe their children will improve on their own or that family support is enough, which hinders access to professional care. Cultural views and limited awareness also contribute to this problem, resulting in a significant number of children and teenagers not receiving the mental health services they need.

4) The lack of mental health services for Indonesia's Generation Z could have a severe impact on the country's future, as many young people have mental health issues and have limited access to care. Only 2.6% of young people with mental health concerns receive support, potentially leading to greater suicide rates, poorer productivity, and long-term societal and economic effects.
