Local area network is a group of computers connected with each other in a small places such as school, hospital, apartment etc.
LAN is secure because there is no outside connection with the local area network thus the data which is shared is safe on the local area network and can’t be accessed outside.
LAN due to their small size are considerably faster, their speed can range anywhere from 100 to 100Mbps
Networking, also known as computer networking, is the practice of transporting and exchanging data between nodes over a shared medium in an information system.

NODES
Any system or device connected to a network is also called a node. For example, if a network connects a file server, five computers, and two printers, there are eight nodes on the network. Each device on the network has a network address, such as a MAC address, which uniquely identifies each device.
