Thanks for letting me use the VW station wagon so that I had transportation to the grocery store and other places while I was in college. Thanks for loving my sister and for fathering a fantastic niece and nephew and grandfathering a great-niece and great-nephew. You will be missed. Love, Anita

I am honored and blessed to have
to known you and your family for the last 16 years. You were truly a blessing in my life. Your kindness and your enthusiasm for your family and to everyone you met. I remember we were talking each other about your grand children sport games in the morning before the church program. It was priceless to see your excitement and inspiration about your grand children sport game . I remember one time we took the Sunday school kids to roller skating after church may be about 5 or 6 years ago with Kacy and Tom and my self. I saw Tom was on the roller skating floor by himself. I asked him if he was skating before, he told me it was his first time with a smile. I was surprised and inspired by his limitless action. Remembering your wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts. May you rest in peace
Love , Yirda

The fact is as contemporaries, there was so much we did not have to say...because of our histories. We just "knew and understood." Thanks for your friendship.

I loved playing 1 v 1 with you in the driveway, as you racked up points for your team, the Heated Spurs, and tried to teach me to master the skyhook. I remember when you'd help me with my math homework, ensuring that I knew the answers not because I was guessing but because I understood the principal. You were always handing me something valuable, whether it be copies of a game you filmed or a printout of the weekly Bible lesson.
I’ll miss seeing you at the top of the bleachers, always ready to capture the moment. I’ll even miss tearing you away from talking the ear off of the lady at the front desk at church about how proud of us you were. I admire how you approached so many things with such passion, and I’m so thankful to have shared those experiences with you.
Love, Tori

Tom and I spent many fun hours together playing sports when we were both much younger. We loved playing basketball, football and tennis. Although he generally won, it was fun for me because we both enjoyed sports for its own sake. For us it was (mostly) not about winning or losing but putting each other to the test. He also managed to do the 'color' analysis, showering either of us with praise for our good plays.
We played until we were both totally exhausted practically every time we got together.
Remarkable to see how much his passion for sports has been passed down the generations of his and Delores' offspring. He was rightfully proud not only of their skills at sports, but also their academic skills. He was a smart guy too. Tom had in fact many good qualities to pass on for which he will be missed.
Uncle David

Your generous heart and joy always shone thru in every thing I saw you do. Some would call it spirituality. Tom always spoke well and wrote well and wanted the same for others. A few words from him once helped me understand something I had misunderstood about my father. I appreciated his kindness, his love of music and his ready welcome to others. He will be missed.

Even though you were a Steelers fan and I an Eagles enthusiast, we got along fabulously. To me you seemed to enjoy everyone you met and I would guess that there aren't many people that didn't like you. The thing that stood out to me most was how much you loved your family and especially your grandkids.

From Marc and Tia
I’m thankful for the privilege of having known Tom and for having been able to spend some quality moments with him over the years.
I initially met Tom as my brother’s Father In Law, but he and I also quickly bonded over our shared love of Music. Jazz music in particular. I always enjoyed our conversations about music. He had a real love and passion for music.
Whatever the subject was actually..., music, sports, family.., I was always left with a good feeling after engaging with Tom.
I’ll always remember fondly the time my wife, Tia and I spent an afternoon and evening at The Capital Jazz Fest with Tom and his nephew, Sammy. That was a beautiful day. Great music, good conversations and family.
Last year, after a family function at my parents home, Tom began to tell me all about his history coaching Kacy’s basketball teams when she was younger and all about his recruitment activities with young people back then and over the years that I had never known about.
Tom and Delores were both very special people and I feel fortunate to have known both of them. Anyone who knows Kacy or her brother Craig, know instantly that they are cut from a special cloth.
Both were beacons of goodness in this community, like so many of the Columbia parents from that generation who many of us have had the great fortune of being reared by and, or inspired by.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and loved ones. He will be missed dearly.
♥️

Sent from my iPhone

I appreciate how you would always ask how I'm doing at church or when you were over the house, and how you would give me valuable lessons. It was always fun going to basketball games with you; you were always so supportive. I miss laughing at the table when you would hum and talk about how good the food is.

I don't know what our church will be like without you. Your joy, your enthusiasm for all things, have been so "there." I remember years ago when you used to walk around with a folder of clippings about Kacy's sports accomplishments. Later, you had a pad to show actual videos of Tori and Ace. There was never a dad more proud! And Craig was clearly your rock in so many ways over the years.
When I think of you, I cherish how you and Delores built such a loving family. Craig, Kacy, Tori, and Ace are a testimony to so much good in your heart and in your home. It has been an honor to call you all friends. You all have shown me what love looks like, and made me a better person.
Groove on, dear man! You are still bringing joy to those around you. Your influence for good continues and you will not be forgotten.
