انهينا الاسبوع الماضي مراجعة الحروف التي تعلمناها سابقا (أ، ب، ت، ث، ج، ح، خ، د، ذ، ر). 

و بدانا هذا الأسبوع بدراسة حرف الزاي (ز)، و قمنا بالعديد من الأنشطة و أوراق العمل المتعلقة به. 

و سنقوم الاسبوع القادم بدراسة حرف السين (س).

Warm greetings.

We are happy to welcome you to the beginning of a new school term and wish everyone success.

Last week, we reviewed the Arabic letters previously learned

(Alif, Baa, Taa, Thaa, Jeem, Haa, Khaa, Daal, Dhaal, Raa).

This week, we started learning the letter Zay (ز).

Students learned words that begin with Zay, the letter with short vowels and long vowels, and the position of the letter in the word.

They also completed many activities and worksheets related to the letter.

Next week, we will learn the letter Seen (س).

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

Children will attend school as normal in the morning, with an early dismissal at 9:30am to begin the Golden Jubilee activities from 9:45am onwards.

Whole School Family Picnic - Families are warmly encouraged to join us for a relaxed picnic on the school grounds.

Cultural Finger Food Sharing - Each family is invited to bring a small plate of finger food that represents their culture or heritage.

Gold Theme or traditional Dress - Students and families are welcome to attend traditional clothing from their home country as we celebrate the diversity that makes RAK Academy so special. (No flags or logos, please.)

Games and Stories From Around the World Cultural games, storytelling sessions, and activities will showcase the richness of our global community.

Golden Jubilee Activities Special 50th anniversary features, including exhibitions, performances, time capsule, art gallery and interactive displays.

This celebration is designed to honour our past, celebrate our present, and inspire our future.

We will be deep diving into all the different animals this week discovering all the similarities and differences between.

The children will be exploring all about vegetables, making predictions and linking all to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

We’re excited to see the children grow in confidence as storytellers.

We are helping the children understand that:

• Teen numbers start with 1 ten

• The second digit shows the ones

• Teen numbers are bigger than 10 but smaller than 20

The children will be using cubes, counters, tens frames and number cards to build confidence with these tricky numbers.

We have been talking about:

• What the ocean looks like

• How sea creatures move

• The differences between fish, turtles, sharks, octopuses and more

• Why the ocean is an important habitat

The children are becoming confident at identifying sea creatures and describing their features using simple vocabulary.

We look forward to a fun day filled with stories, imagination and a love of reading. Thank you for supporting this exciting event.

This week, children will practise:

• Combining groups to find a total

• Using maths language such as add, plus, altogether, total

• Representing addition using pictures, marks, and simple number sentences

• Solving real‑life problems like “I have 2 apples and get 1 more…”

Through videos, songs, role play, and hands‑on activities, children practised:

• Naming ocean animals and repeating key facts

• Comparing environments like the city and the sea

• Talking about pollution and who is helpful or harmful to our world

• Recycling responsibly using colour‑coded bins

• Sharing ideas using stems such as “I think… because…

The children will explore the story through role‑play, small‑world play, sequencing cards, and lots of opportunities to retell the tale in their own words. These activities strengthen their vocabulary, understanding of story structure, and early sentence skills.

You can support at home by encouraging your child to talk about subtraction during everyday routines for example, “We had 5 strawberries, you ate 2… how many are left?”

Through observation walks, magnifying glasses, and small‑world play, the children will learn to notice details, compare different creatures, and talk about where minibeasts live. This topic supports early science skills, curiosity, and care for living things.
