Filipinos are very well known for singing as well as their love for karaoke. Although I can't go frequently to karaoke places, I do love to sing in my free time. It is also often joked that Filipinos would bluff about their ability to sing but would end up surprising their crowd with how good they actually are.

I've enjoyed watching anime ever since I was young, and to this day I still do. Anime is important in Philippine Pop Culture because it has a dedicated fanbase, influences fashion and trends, fosters creativity, encourages cultural exchange, serves as a source of entertainment, and has a strong online presence. Anime has become an integral part of the cultural landscape in the Philippines, reflecting the global appeal and significance of this form of Japanese entertainment.

As someone who works part-time in the food industry, sometimes eating can be... a hobby for me, ahaha! (Although, I do my best to balance it too.) Food is important in Philippine culture because it is present in almost everywhere we go. From street food being sold to food in fiestas, celebrations or parties, us Filipinos are known for our culinary creativity because of this.

When I was younger, I would often watch Filipino TV Series, or teleseryes. These teleseryes have a significant impact, especially to us Filipinos because it gives mass entertainment, often reflect cultural reflection, show strong emotional impact for the audience to connect, and often times it shows moral and social lessons aside from the drama.

One of my main hobbies is to draw or make art in general! Art is important in Philippine Popular Culture because it is how Filipino artists express themselves and how they feel as they orchestrate their piece. It's essential for cultural identity, storytelling, entertainment, social commentary, and so much more.

If there is one thing the Philippines is famous for, it is that there are festivals and/or parties everywhere, at least once every month.
Pop Culture Analysis: What is "Agenda Setting"?

The Agenda Setting theory is closely related to the way media coverage impacts the visibility, awareness, and public perception of Philippine Pop Culture. The media's role in selecting, framing, and presenting these events can significantly influence their success and cultural significance. One example is the influence of the popular teleserye, "Ang Probinsyano". Agenda Setting in this teleserye can be seen through: media influence, public awareness, policy impact, and framing and perception.

We can most directly correlate Philippine festivals and celebrations with the Agenda Setting theory. Media organizations play a significant role in deciding which festivals, celebrations, and parties receive coverage. Through media coverage, festivals and celebrations become visible to the public. The media's choice of what to cover influences the awareness and prominence of these events in the public agenda. In other words, the more attention a festival or celebration receives in the media, the more likely it is to become well-known and attract participants and tourists.

In the context of Philippine festivals, media coverage can also influence policymakers and local government decisions. Festivals are often supported and promoted by local authorities, and the media can bring these celebrations to the attention of policymakers, potentially affecting funding and logistical support for the events. Media coverage can also contribute to the growth of tourism by promoting Philippine festivals and celebrations as cultural attractions. The way the media frame the coverage of festivals and celebrations can affect how the public perceives these events. Positive, informative, and engaging coverage can generate more interest and participation, while negative or sensationalized reporting can shape a different public perception.
